SUMMARY Seeking an outstanding candidate to join the R&D team responsible for ANSYS circuit simulation products focusing on channel operating margin (COM), S-parameter post-processing and IBIS modeling technologies critical to customer simulation sign-off flows. The R&D Engineer II contributes to the development of software products and supporting systems. In this role, the R&D Engineer II will collaborate with a team of expert professionals to understand customer requirements and accomplish development objectives.
RESPONSIBILITIES Performs development activities, including the design, implementation, maintenance, testing and documentation of software modules and sub-systems. Employs software development best practices, participating in technical reviews, mentoring, planning and architecture. Investigates problems discovered by QA or product support and develops solutions. Performs bug verification, release testing and beta support for assigned products. Researches and understands the marketing requirements for a product, including target environment, performance criteria and competitive issues. May work with strategic customers or proxies to assess needs and develop solutions. Works under the general supervision of a development manager.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS BS in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field with 2 years' experience or MS Working experience with technical software development proven by academic, research, or industry projects Strong background in Signal Integrity concepts and modeling
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS Technical knowledge and experience with circuit device and interconnect modeling and simulation (SPICE, IBIS, Touchstone) Experience with Java, C++, Python Experience with UI frameworks (RCP) including Qt, Eclipse, or NetBeans Understanding of software configuration management practices Good communication and interpersonal skills Ability to learn quickly and to collaborate with others in a geographically distributed team
