DIRECTOR HOSPITALITY FOR PRESIDENTIAL FUNCTIONS Office of the President

This position will serve as the hospitality liaison for the President and the President’s spouse and will be the lead representative for the management of Presidential Events. Reporting to the Executive Director of Finance and Operations for Presidential Functions, this person will be responsible for planning, designing, and executing a variety of events and programs for the President (and the President’s spouse, as needed). Additionally, this position will be responsible for the oversight and management of the Sloane House events, including overseeing an Events Specialist and the internal and external teams supporting those events.
Responsibilities:
(60%) Design and maintain a hospitality program which will establish a presidential level of expertise and execution. Working with Dining Services to establish a top of class events program at the President’s home (Sloane House). Consult and collaborate with related University departments, such as Development and Alumni Relations, MarCom, Strategy and Innovation, and the Office of the Trustees, to ensure the successful planning, preparation, and completion of all events. Stewardship and cultivation of presidential level donors. Vet invitation lists, printed materials, event related budgets, program agendas and timelines, seating arrangements, style, and location of events, briefing books and speaking engagement checklists.
(20%) Develop an advancement program for trustee and overseer functions by working with the Office of the Trustees, Office of Strategy and Innovation, and Chief of Staff for the President to advance, maintain and expand the program to better serve the University.
(20%) Oversee Sloane House operations and staff including the preparation of the Sloane House for any events held on the premises by coordinating with the appropriate University departments and ensuring Sloane House’s aesthetic standards are met (grounds and household maintenance and cleaning). Supervise staff assigned to the Sloane House and evaluate their performance consistent with university policies and procedures. Provide special project assistance and research for the Executive Director and Chief of Staff. Perform other duties as assigned.
