The hiring range for this role is:
125,870.00 - 176,525.00
This is the lowest to highest salary we believe we would pay for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the hiring range and this hiring range may also be modified in the future. A candidate's position within the hiring range may be based on several factors including, but not limited to, specific competencies, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, relevant experience, skills, seniority, performance, shift, travel requirements, and business or organizational needs. annual bonus incentive pay. Job Description Summary:
The Release Train Engineer partners with leaders from business and technology to manage the Agile Release Train events and processes. Responsible for communicating with stakeholders, escalating impediments, and assisting with issue and risk management. Leads the overall direction of the Agile Release Train in a coordinated way to obtain benefits and control not available from managing individual agile teams. Provides leadership and guidance in promoting established agile processes and methodologies. Identifies and prioritizes opportunities for collaboration within and across teams to support efficiencies and maximizing business value to achieve the goals of the enterprise. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Leads the Agile Release Train (ART) to ensure successful delivery of Business Value. Identifies impediments for the Agile Release Train to succeed and works with stakeholders to provide transparency and drive resolution. Manages risks, issues and dependencies in conjunction with the Release Manager. Manages the program board. Reviews proposed changes to the program board and communicates the impacts of those changes to the relevant stakeholders. Facilitates Scrum of Scrum Meetings. Provides leadership, direction and coaching to Scrum Masters. Drives teams to deliver against Program Increment (PI) Objectives. Coordinates with business stakeholders, development teams, and partners to establish and maintain the pipeline through the Program Increment (PI) planning process. Drives feature readiness with business stakeholders to ensure features are ready for PI Planning. Facilitates the PI Planning meeting and works with the teams to understand and map the upstream/downstream dependencies. Manages the creation of the program board in conjunction with the teams during the PI Planning meeting. Summarizes Team PI Objectives into Program Objectives and publishes to the program. Manages status of Program Objectives and issues, risks and action items related to the Program Objectives. Works with Lean Agile Center of Excellence to drive Agile adoption and improvements that will continue to improve the value delivery of the Train. Identifies and maintains metrics to identify opportunities for improvement. Required Education, Certifications and Experience:
Education:
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration or equivalent work experience in a similar work environment. Certifications:
SAFe Certified Release Train Engineer certification or SAFe Program Consultant (SPC4) certification. Certified Scrum Master (CSM) or SAFe SM. Experience:
8+ years of experience managing software development projects including 3 years of Agile experience. 1 year experience in the Release Train Engineer (RTE) role. Experience in coaching Scrum Masters and Agile team members. Skills:
Extensive knowledge and expertise in Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe). Experience with Agile Tool such as Rally, Jira, BCBS or health insurance industry background, understanding of health insurance concepts. Strong team-oriented interpersonal skills. Superior analytical skills to support quality decision making in support of the project or program. Demonstrated political and interpersonal savvy. Manages conflicts by reading situations quickly, identifying potential solutions and gaining cooperation with minimal disruption. The ability to establish and maintain high level customer trust and confidence. Demonstrated development and maintenance of business relationships. Superior conceptualization skills to quickly grasp and understand business and architectural concepts and frameworks. Outstanding organizational skills to manage and prioritize multiple tasks. Ability to work independently, attention to detail and very strong customer service orientation. Outstanding communications skills, ability to effectively present concepts and issues for both business and technical audiences. People Management:
