Summary:
The Senior Network Engineer role will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining complex network infrastructures in support of needs, ensuring a reliable network environment. The position will require interdepartmental skills, working daily with other teams across other departments. Specialization in Routing, Switching, Security, Wireless Technologies, Cloud, LAN/WAN infrastructures, and automation tools is required. This role will require abilities to contribute architectural designs and knowledge of networking best practices and compliance policies. Key Tasks:
Take ownership of assigned projects/tasks and deliver results in a timely manner. Support the design, development, and management of network and monitoring systems for new and existing environments. Monitor system resource utilization, trending, and capacity planning. Configure and install various network devices and services (e.g., routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers, VPN, QoS). Perform network maintenance and system upgrades including service packs, patches, hot fixes, and security configurations. Work within established configuration and change management policies to ensure awareness, approval, and success of changes made to the network infrastructure. Select and implement security tools, policies, and procedures in conjunction with the company's security team. Implement and support IPsec VPN, MPLS Networks, and Network security systems including Intrusion protection and packet inspection systems. Configure and support routing solutions utilizing OSPF, EIGRP, and BGP. Design and implement process improvements. Utilize Project management software to plan and track progress. Provide status updates to management and stakeholders regarding issues and progress. Obtain quotes and place orders with third-party vendors where required. Required Skills:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or technical discipline required or current college coursework resulting in a degree. CCNP (Cisco Certified Network Professional) or higher certification required. Minimum of 7 years of working experience in a network engineer capacity required. Experience required with firewalls such as Cisco ASA/FTDs, Palo Alto, Checkpoint, or Fortinet. Experience with routers and switches such as Cisco, HP, or Juniper. Experience required with wireless technologies such as Cisco Wireless, Aruba, or Ruckus. Extensive knowledge of network security architecture components (e.g., Firewalls, VPNs, ACL, IDS/IPS). In-depth knowledge of Cisco networking, Cloud knowledge, and experience with Azure, AWS, or GCP. Extensive knowledge and experience of Core Routing and Switching design, configuration, and troubleshooting. Experience supporting solutions with high availability, cloud environments, and real-time monitoring. Solid knowledge of TCP/IP and network security (QoS a plus), proficient use of packet analyzers, network assessment tools. Must be able to lead projects and deliver results. Ability to share and communicate ideas and processes in verbal and written form in a clear and concise manner. Ability to troubleshoot complicated issues, think outside the box, get help when needed, and work with other engineers to deliver results in a timely manner. Cisco Services Engine experience. SD-WAN experience. Physical Requirements:
Ability to sit, stand, stoop, reach, lift (up to 10 pounds), bend, etc., hand and wrist dexterity to utilize a computer. May require travel to sites/program and special functions. Environmental Conditions Critical to Performance:
Work is in an office environment, climate controlled through central air conditioning. May have some exposure to outside environments while traveling.
