We are Our Retail Business Intelligence (RBI) function within ASO is focused on building the data infrastructure used broadly across our organization. As a Data Engineer, you will be responsible for defining, developing, and maintaining easy-to-query certified datasets, data pipelines and reporting tools. You will gain SME knowledge, collaborating closely with IT and downstream customers to optimize data collection and delivery. Description As a Data Engineer on the RBI team, you will play a pivotal role in leveraging your understanding of data, including attributes, measures, and KPIs, to accurately measure and evaluate our business initiatives. Collaborating closely with peers and global cross-functional business partners, you will be instrumental in addressing their data and reporting needs. Your expertise will be instrumental in designing, building, testing, and deploying robust reporting solutions that empower our customers to make data-driven decisions. In this role, you will: - Dive deep into data, and help solve complex business problems - Support testing of data pipelines and integrated metrics and attributes - Collaborate with engineering teams to develop, enrich, and troubleshoot data objects - Develop, define and document analytic assets - Partner with cross-functional teams for consultation, training, and support of analytical tools and datasets Minimum Qualifications 3 years of SQL experience Understanding of enterprise semantic layer (ESL) development for relational databases like Snowflake/Teradata Experience with data validation across multiple sources BA/BS in Information Technology, Mathematics, Computer Science, or a minimum of 4 years of directly relatable experience Key Qualifications Preferred Qualifications Ability to deal with ambiguity; find flexible creative solutions Skilled in supporting multiple deadline-specific projects simultaneously while maintaining day-to-day business support Desire to build effective relationships in a multi-functional team environment Experience in large enterprise cross-functional projects (including writing pseudocode requirements, performing testing/validation against requirements) Experience with data visualization tools (e.g.: Tableau) Familiarity with Finance, Operations, or Retail Contact Center data Knowledge of one or more scripting language like PHP or Python Education & Experience Additional Requirements Apple is an equal opportunity employer that is committed to inclusion and diversity.
