We are seeking an Administrative Specialist who is driven to succeed in helping people and the vulnerablepopulation. The Administrative Specialist will provide support to staff who determine eligibility in variouspublic assistance programs. The employee is expected to perform at the highest quality to ensure services tothe vulnerable citizens. Responsibilities include but not limited to:
- Provides professional support of an administrative nature in developing, implementing and maintaining countyspecific procedures for day-to-day functioning.
- Greet and check in all visitors to the office.
- Scan and enter data in various department programs.
- Prepare and maintain files, logs, manuals, correspondence, reports, time and attendance, financialstatements, or related documents.
- Interpret regulations, policies, procedures and rules for staff and general public.
- Answers inquiries and provide information in person, by telephone or e-mail.
- Schedule meetings and prepare meeting minutes as required.
- Provide recommendations of office procedures, requisitioning equipment, supplies, and materials.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Good time management and organizational skills.
- The ability to work well under pressure.
- Possess the ability to work independently and with limited supervision.
- A willingness to work as part of a team.

Minimum Requirements
EDUCATION:Graduate of a college or university with a bachelor's degree.
EXPERIENCE, TRAINING, OR SKILLS:One year of professional, administrative, or business experience.
Substitute EDUCATION for EXPERIENCE:Additional education will substitute for the required experience on a year-for-year basis.
Substitute EXPERIENCE for EDUCATION:Additional administrative, business, research, and/or clerical experience will substitute for the required education on a year-for-year basis.

Working Conditions
Incumbents working in this job title primarily perform duties in an office setting.
Probationary Period
This job has an initial and promotional probationary period of 6 months, except as provided in KRS 18A.111.
