The role...
We are looking for a visionary and results-driven Director of Product Marketing to join our Global Marketing team, reporting to the Senior Director of Strategic Marketing. This critical role is responsible for defining and executing the go-to-market strategy, positioning, and messaging for our portfolio of reagent antibody-based products & services. The Director will lead efforts to optimize our existing portfolio, launch new products and services, and drive market leadership through integrated, sales-aligned marketing campaigns.
This position requires an in-depth understanding of market dynamics, customer needs, and the competitive landscape. The ideal candidate will have a proven ability to drive awareness, adoption, and revenue growth in the life sciences industry. Collaborating with R&D, sales, and global marketing teams, the Director will focus on expanding market share, enhancing customer engagement, and positioning our offerings as a market leader.
As the Director, you will oversee the development of the go-to-market strategy for the product portfolio, conduct gap analyses, and create marketing plans that highlight product differentiation and value. You will manage a team of Product Marketing Managers, providing mentorship and aligning efforts with organizational objectives. Portfolio Strategy & Expansion:
- Develop and execute a comprehensive roadmap to enhance the reagent antibody portfolio through new products, services, diversification, and applications.
- Identify high-growth segments and emerging trends within the current research areas through in-depth customer, market, and competitor analyses.
- Partner with R&D and Strategic Marketing to define product requirements and drive the successful development of new solutions.
- Build robust business cases for portfolio expansion, including market opportunity assessments and revenue projections.
Product Marketing Strategy & Positioning:
- Create and implement a strategic product marketing plan (including pricing and channel strategy) aligned with business objectives, supporting the existing portfolio, product launches, customer acquisition, and revenue growth.
- Develop compelling product positioning and messaging that differentiates the portfolio and resonates with key audiences across multiple customer segments (Academia, BioPharma, CRO/CDMO).
- Ensure alignment with brand and corporate strategies across all product marketing efforts.
- Establish frameworks and metrics to measure the success of product launches, including adoption rates, customer feedback, and sales performance.
Market Analysis & Competitive Intelligence:
- Conduct ongoing market research to identify industry trends, customer pain points, and competitive offerings.
- Leverage insights to identify market opportunities and threats, informing pricing strategies, product roadmaps, and differentiation tactics.
- Develop market segmentation and customer personas based on data-driven insights to guide targeted marketing efforts.
- Provide actionable recommendations to improve market share and customer satisfaction based on continuous product performance analysis.
Customer Engagement & Advocacy:
- Develop strategies to engage customers, gather feedback, and foster relationships with key opinion leaders (KOLs) and industry influencers.
- Implement customer advocacy programs, including case studies and testimonials, to build product credibility and enhance brand reputation.
- Lead customer focus groups to gain insights and validate product messaging and positioning.
Campaign Development, Execution & Content Strategy:
- Design and execute integrated marketing campaigns to drive product adoption, protect market share, and expand into new markets.
- Leverage multimedia, social media, and digital marketing strategies to enhance brand awareness and generate high-quality leads.
- Collaborate with regional marketing teams to localize campaigns and ensure alignment with market-specific strategies.
- Oversee the creation and ongoing maintenance of compelling product content (including web, collateral, whitepapers, webinars, case studies, blogs) that educates target audiences and supports campaign objectives.
- Integrate customer feedback (VoC) into campaign strategies to enhance relevance and impact.
- Monitor and optimize the performance of marketing activities, leveraging data to improve engagement, lead quality, and overall campaign success.
Sales Enablement & Collaboration:
- Partner with sales teams to develop and deliver training, tools, and resources that drive customer engagement and conversion.
- Create sales enablement materials, including product training, competitive insights, and objection-handling guides, to effectively communicate product benefits and value propositions.
- Align marketing initiatives with sales strategies to optimize lead generation, pipeline velocity, and revenue growth.
- Lead regular training sessions to ensure that sales and customer-facing teams are fully prepared to represent the product portfolio.
- Support distributors and e-commerce platforms with targeted resources and programs to drive sales success.
Performance Tracking & Reporting:
- Define KPIs and success metrics to evaluate the effectiveness of product marketing initiatives.
- Use analytics to monitor product performance, market share, and campaign results, reporting insights to senior leadership.
- Optimize marketing spend and activities based on performance insights and market changes.
Cross-Functional Leadership & Team Development:
- Lead and mentor a team of product marketing professionals, fostering a high-performance culture of collaboration and innovation.
- Build a talent development plan to ensure the team is equipped to meet evolving market demands and opportunities.
- Collaborate closely with Strategic Marketing, Product Management, MarCom, Sales, and R&D to ensure alignment on product development and marketing initiatives.
- Partner with regional sales teams to ensure effective product positioning, sales enablement, and the development of relevant sales tools.
- Engage with Operations, Regulatory, and Customer Support teams to ensure product quality, compliance, and a seamless customer experience.

Who you are and what you bring to the team...
Education
- Masters degree in life sciences or a related discipline (immunology, cell biology, molecular biology) is required.
- PhD degree in life sciences or a related discipline is preferred.
- MBA preferred.
Professional Experience
- 10+ years of product marketing experience in the life sciences industry, with a demonstrated ability to drive portfolio growth and market leadership.
- 5+ years of team leadership experience, managing cross-functional teams and aligning efforts across R&D, sales, and marketing to achieve organizational objectives.
- Proven track record in portfolio strategy, new product commercialization, and the execution of marketing campaigns that drive growth in competitive markets.
- Expertise in reagent antibodies or related products is highly preferred, including experience in their commercialization and applications.
Technical Expertise
- Deep understanding of reagent antibody technologies and their applications in key research areas such as proteomics, flow cytometry, immunoassays, immunohistochemistry (IHC), and high-throughput screening.
- Familiarity with antibody production, validation, and quality standards, including recombinant, monoclonal, and polyclonal antibody development.
- Knowledge of current trends in immunology, cell biology, neuroscience, and related fields driving demand for reagent antibodies.
- In-depth knowledge of antibody applications in research, diagnostics, and therapeutics.
Skills
- Strong strategic and analytical thinking, with a customer-focused approach to identifying and addressing market needs.
- Proficiency in digital marketing platforms, CRM systems, and automation tools (HubSpot, Salesforce) to drive targeted campaigns and lead generation.
