Raytheon Intelligence & Space (RI&S) has an exciting opportunity for a Supplier Quality Engineer (SQE) at our Aurora, CO location. The SQE function ensures that known good parts and services are received from the supply chain. We work collaboratively with our internal functional counterparts to ensure requirements flow down and Technical Data Packages (TDPs) will result in product that performs in the system and services that meet performance requirements. We conduct or coordinate supplier oversight through requirements reviews, in process and final inspection at supplier’s facilities, perform ‘value-added’ incoming inspection at Raytheon to ensure compliance. We perform robust containment, root cause, corrective action and ( https://www.rtx.com/ ) validation of supplier caused defects.Additional role and the responsibilities will include but are not limited to the following: Participate in the full development life cycle and shall apply technical standards, principles, theories, concepts and techniques to solve problems As part of integrated Subcontract Management team, engage with major subcontractors and their sub-tier suppliers to ensure peak performance and on-time delivery of a quality product Verify subcontractor(s) completion of program / subcontractor milestones with the ability to manage time and resources to meet assigned deadlines Review test plans and determine compliance to customer and program requirements Perform witness for major milestone events and sell of major subcontracted items Assess subcontractor/supplier quality capabilities throughout the program life cycle to achieve full program objectives. Provide periodic Qualitative Data Input (QDI) reports Drive continuous product/process improvement at subcontractor Significant travel to subcontractor and sub-tier supplier facilities Participate in Subcontract Statement of Work (SSOW) development, peer review, and sign off Lead and participate in multi-functional teams in process improvement activities using Raytheon Six Sigma quality resources Management of supplier corrective actions, maintaining monthly reports of the supplier corrective actions, coordinating, participating, and potentially conducting enterprise supplier assessments, defect data analysis, collaborating with subcontracts, engineering, and supply chain management to identify, resolve, and monitor supplier quality issues Verification of supplier’s abilities to meeting program requirements and corrective actions which includes tracking and applying product variance documents, evaluating supplier routers, and auditing supplier planning Drive robust and closed-loop supplier corrective actions with vendors, Supplier Corrective Actions and assurance of closed-loop Root Cause Corrective Action (RCCA); Supplier corrective action process initiation, review, approval and monitoring; assure containment, closed-loop RCCA is obtained; communicate issue and resolution to functional stakeholders Develop and implement Supplier Quality plans for the programs Develop and deploy Supplier Assessments Develop bids and presentations for management that cover all of Supplier Quality in support of proposals Create and maintain Basis of Estimates for Supplier Quality work content; coordinate submission with Quality Perform defect data analysis and review with the program managers and supplier management, which will assist in developing Supplier improvement plans Participate in Supplier Surveillance and engagement plans, and ensure communication of actions and results to the Supplier Quality and Program Leadership Participate with Supply Chain and Engineering teams early on the Supplier selection process to mitigate supplier risk and ensure that key program requirements are flown down to vendors Ability to resolve technical issues with respect to product processes, systems, and deliverables in engineering, supply chain and quality and at the supplier. Travel The applicant must have the ability to travel. This position has the potential to be as high as 75% travel. Most often will be 25 – 50% U.S. Citizenship status is required, as the candidate must have the ability to obtain a U.S. DoD Secret Security Clearance.U.S. Citizenship status is required, as this position will require the ability to access U.S. only data systems. Required Skills Minimum 5 years working experience in Engineering or Quality Engineering Experience in a production environment Experience in working with external major subcontractors and suppliers Demonstrated experience supporting large programs Experience with problem resolution of technical and/or quality issues Understanding of Material Review Board (MRB), Failure Review Board (FRB), Failure Reporting and Corrective Action System (FRACAS) Experience with closed-loop corrective action systems, nonconforming material control system and configuration management practices Strong follow through and ability to work with Engineers to develop practical solutions to a wide range of problems in quality systems, materials, electronics, optics, and mechanical products Understand the use and the purpose of corrective action containment and root cause and appropriate escalation Demonstrated ability to drive robust and closed loop corrective action over an extended period of time Must be proficient with Microsoft Office Suites Proficient in Causal analysis and using resources such as: i.e., 5-whys’, FMEA, Fishbone, etc. Strong written, verbal and presentation skills for interaction at various levels of management with the suppliers. Desired Skills Ability to obtain a U.S. DoD Secret Clearance American Society for Quality (ASQ) Certifications Certified Quality Auditor (CQA) Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) Certified Quality Management (CQM) Education Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 5 years of prior relevant experience unless prohibited by local laws/regulations.
