Responsibilities You will serve as a SYSADMIN position responsible for the compliance of the Command's IT Network infrastructure in accordance with Federal, DoD, and Navy guidance. You will work the commands IT Infrastructure Operations, providing operation and support for server and storage hardware/software. You will coordinate and communicate system outages as required to support the timely application of Windows platform patches. You will play a pivotal role in System Availability and ATO Support. You will be responsible for establishing and managing highly available IT hardware and software to ensure maximum availability to the customer base. You will routinely inspect hardware and software operational parameters to detect performance issues, responding promptly with troubleshooting and issue isolation/resolution. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower band NT-03 (GS-09 and GS-10 equivalent) in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Planning, managing and evaluating information systems and resolving difficult and complex system problems to ensure that requested IT materials (e.g. software/hardware) and services (e.g. maintenance contracts) are coordinated and submitted in accordance with Navy and DoD IT procurement policy and regulations. Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. Education In lieu of specialized experience, you may qualify with the following education or combination of both education and experience: Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.M., if related Applicants can also qualify for this position through a combination of education and experience which when combined, equal one year of specialized experience. Additional Information This position is covered by the Department of Defense Priority Placement Program. The NT-04 pay band is equivalent to GS-11/12 grade levels and includes all the positions within the band. Several vacancies may be filled.
