DALEY COLLEGE VICE PRESIDENT – ACADEMIC AND STUDENT AFFAIRS
President Janine Janosky of Richard J. Daley College (Daley College) seeks an innovative, collaborative, and mission-driven leader to serve as the Vice President – Academic and Student Affairs (VPASA). This is an outstanding opportunity to combine a visionary model for industry, education, and business partnerships with on-the-ground alignment and scalability from the College to employment sectors to spur social and economic mobility through education and training. The new VPASA will work closely with the college Deans to continue transforming the College’s academic affairs and student services into increasingly more holistic and personalized provision that places the necessary operations “behind the wall” while foregrounding the focus on each student’s individual success in navigating the college experience.
Daley College is one of the largest community college systems in Illinois with more than 5,000 faculty and 80,000 students annually and is the city's most accessible higher education engine of socioeconomic mobility and racial equity – empowering all Chicagoans to take part in building a stronger and more just city. In 2011, a visionary plan was created to put every student on a path to upward mobility by creating College to Careers hubs at each of the colleges. These Centers of Excellence align each college with a specific industry cluster poised for the greatest regional growth to ensure that Chicago has a skilled workforce to meet the growing demand. Daley College is a college with forward momentum with a Center of Excellence in Manufacturing Technology and Engineering.
