General Summary:

The Director, Corporate Development, will play a critical role in contributing to the long-term growth and diversification strategy at Qualcomm. Reporting into the Corporate Strategy organization, you will work closely with the Vice President, Corporate Development on highly impactful transactions including Acquisitions, partnerships and investments.

Responsibilities:

  1. Lead and support corporate development transactions through all phases of the transaction lifecycle.
  2. Research adjacent and new market opportunities, including opportunity/TAM sizing, target landscaping and competitive analysis.
  3. Partner with Qualcomm’s business and engineering teams to evaluate opportunities to address strategic gaps and conduct build/buy/partner analysis and provide recommendations.
  4. Conduct detailed analyses including valuation and pro forma modeling which capture target company trends, deal alignment and expense/investment needs.
  5. Develop presentation materials to provide recommendations to the executive team and the board.
  6. Work with the PMO, integration team and broader cross-functional teams to drive diligence to validate key assumptions and value drivers.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree and 7+ years of Strategy & Analysis or related work experience.
OR
• Associate's degree and 9+ years of Strategy & Analysis or related work experience.
*Completed advanced degrees in a relevant field may be substituted for up to two years (Master’s = one year, Doctorate = two years) of work experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

  1. 15+ years of Technology Industry Experience and at least 5+ years of experience with M&A/transactions including banking, consulting or private equity experience.
  2. Excellent communications skills, with the ability to translate complex analysis and information into a clear and concise form.
  3. Experience with leading transactions end to end (acquisitions, strategic investments and partnerships) and working with cross functional teams.
  4. Strong financial modeling and valuation skills.
  5. MBA from a top tier US University and a Qualitative undergraduate degree (Engineering, Finance etc.) preferred.

Level of Responsibility:

  1. Works independently with no supervision.
  2. Provides supervision to other supervisors/managers who are direct reports.
  3. Decision-making is critical in nature and highly impacts program, product, or project success.
  4. Requires verbal and written communication skills to convey highly complex and/or detailed information. May require strong negotiation and influence with large groups or high-level constituents.
  5. Works within the prescribed budgetary objectives of the department.
  6. Has a great degree of influence over key organizational decisions (e.g., is making or directly making key decisions that will have substantial impact over the organization).
  7. Tasks often require multiple steps which can be performed in various orders; extensive planning, problem-solving, and prioritization must occur to complete the tasks effectively.
