To learn more about CIBC, please visit CIBC.com (https://www.cibc.com/en/about-cibc.html) What You’ll Be Doing Business Architecture is a critical bridge between business leaders, technology leaders, and Technology Architects to ensure that strategy, capabilities and execution are in alignment. CIBC is developing a Business Architecture practice as part of the US Technology team. Reporting to the US Head of Business Architecture, the Business Architect has direct responsibility for working closely with business leaders to identify strategic business capabilities needed to enable their business goals and leverage business architecture artifacts to create future state business architecture and roadmaps while partnering with technology architects and leaders to align technical solutions to business imperatives. You identify and lead efforts to advance and maintain vision and direction for the business architecture practice. The BA defines, designs, and matures business capability architecture for the enterprise, inclusive of artifacts such as a capability maps, value streams, process architecture and roadmaps. In this role you also oversee the creation and governance of business architecture artifacts, as well as common standards and methods for developing and incorporating business architecture in the enterprise. You demonstrate impacts and opportunities for business leaders to facilitate critical business decisions, while capturing key views of the business unit in the context of the overall enterprise and provide direct input into the planning, execution, and achievement of enterprise and business unit strategic goals. How You’ll Succeed Strategic Thinking Approach: Take a holistic view to all tasks You drive, manage and execute the Risk Management strategy initiatives and sustain Risk Management Strategy for CIBC through all lines of businesses while supporting the business goals, objectives and KPIs. You have a keen ability to provide insights, recommendations and risk management strategic direction based on CIBC’s vision, business needs and objectives (KPIs), industry trends, competitive landscape and metrics insights. Team Player and Leadership: Act both Collaboratively and Autonomously. You will contribute to creating risk management roadmaps, initiative engagements and solutioning for assigned portfolios. Business Acumen and Relationship Building: Forge strong relationships with CIBC’s various teams, by working with the business and internal partners, owning the end to end engagements to deliver Risk Management capabilities, with a strong understanding of the client needs and experiences across all Lines of Businesses. You are a great communicator, with the ability to synthesize complex analysis, findings and recommendations, then package key messages for senior executives. You have a proven ability to partner, build confidence and influence multiple stakeholders at all levels across the organization and you’re a self-starter, with the ability to deal with ambiguity and develop processes and governance from the ground up. Strategy and Execution: Help translate strategy into actionable initiatives. Support business unit’s planning process and facilitate the sequencing and prioritizing of initiatives. Governance: Ensure the Business Architecture practice defines and maintains pragmatic, yet effective levels of governance activities at the enterprise level. Who You Are You are an experienced professional. You have 6 years of experience within Business Architecture. You have a degree in business, information technology (IT), computer science, engineering or finance, or an equal combination of education in a related field and industry experience. You also have comprehensive working knowledge of a number of line of businesses acquired through business architecture and/or product management. You are a critical thinker and have the ability to synthesize a variety of information into cohesive business modeling. You are passionate about business architecture and the value it brings to organizations, through the pursuit of additional training, certifications or the development of your practice. You have extensive experience leading and influencing teams and stakeholders to deliver effective change. You're driven to succeed. You possess mature business judgement and are proactive, well-organized and results oriented. You are self-starter with a proven ability to manage multiple priorities and to work independently and are highly motivated, perseverant, and resilient in pursuing objectives despite challenges. You have strong communication skills. You have presentation skills sufficient to clearly articulate complex conceptual information and ideas. This role has an expected salary range of $160,000 - $175,000 for the market based on experience, qualifications, and location of the position. The successful candidate may be eligible to participate in the relevant business unit’s incentive compensation plan, which may also include a discretionary bonus co mponent.
