Description

POSITION SUMMARY:

  • To maintain accurate inventory, receive raw materials and product into IQMS, issue appropriate materials to production, store and ship according to customer requirements, and PCI procedures while maintaining compliance with Department of Homeland Security, OSHA, FDA, and other certification agency requirements. To maintain a safe working environment, operate material handling equipment and follow all company GMP and safety rules. To ship orders complete, accurately and in a timely manner. This is a Safety Sensitive Position.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
  • Operates forklift, clamp truck and man lift in safe manner. Charge and water fork lift batteries using required PPE;
  • Loads and unloads trailers for shipments and receipts;
  • Utilizes IQMS transactions for all receipts, movements and issues of raw materials and packaging components;
  • Utilizes IQMS transactions for all receipts, movements, staging and shipping of customer orders, warehouse transfers or customer returns;
  • Secures trailers with dock locks or wheel chocks before entering with a forklift. Removes or unlocks when loading/unloading is complete;
  • Installs and removes dock plates, opens and closes dock doors and ensures they remain locked for security and safety reasons;
  • Labels, stretch wrap, stages and ships orders in compliance with customer requirements and PCI procedures;
  • Repacks cartoons as needed;
  • Cycle count machine locations each shift;
  • Receives railcars into the RF system, unloads railcar resin into appropriate silos and notifies Supervisor of issues or shortages;
  • Notifies railroad (IAIS) of required changes in railcar line-up on siding;
  • Performs RTI's for color, liner and WIP caps returned to the warehouse from production;
  • Loads and unloads shuttle trailers and trailers to outside warehouses and other PCI facilities using appropriate transactions;
  • Prepares weekly inventory report for Purchasing;
  • Prints ship sets, bills of lading and labels;
  • Calls designed carriers providing them with appropriate shipment information;
  • Obtains control numbers for and Perform IQMS RMA's and PO receipts;
  • Responds to telephone queries, receive and send fax and e-mail information;
  • Performs Bin Checks and queries.
  • Takes part in fiscal year-end inventory audit preparation and SQF audit preparation.
OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Responsible for following all Food Safety related policies and procedures;
  • Responsible for following all Safety Rules, policies, procedures and work instructions;
  • Performs other duties that may be assigned;
  • Backup / Communicates: W / Off-shift Material Technicians.
Requirements

EDUCATION AND TRAINING:
  • Minimum High School education or equivalent; computer experience; forklift certification required, good verbal and written English skills, good reading comprehension and basic math skills.
EXPERIENCE:
  • Minimum of 2 years on the job experience
  • Good verbal and organizational skills; Inventory Control
  • Loading and unloading with forklift
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
  • Lifting (0-50 lbs.) repetitive lifting and reaching. Outside work on rail spur.
  • Pushing or pulling (1-60 lbs. typically 15 - 40% of the day) - Lift truck, cart, pallets.
  • Simple grasping (15-40%) - boxes, tape gun, slip-sheets, lift truck controls, pen.
  • Firm grasping (0-15%) - boxes.
