Recent decades have brought vast advances in medicine, specifically the role of genomics. The recruitment of a Chief Genomics Officer (CGO) is imperative for the institution to become the premier destination for genomics and genetics nationally. Serving as the leader of clinical genetics and genomics services for the health system, the CGO will: Create a new vision for genomic research and genomic therapy across UH and in collaboration with Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine. Organize clinical genetics and genomics services in collaboration with existing clinical genomics laboratories. Apply genetics and genomics to clinical care within the health system. Reporting to

President of Academic and External Affairs and Chief Scientific Officer, the CGO will be tasked with creating the infrastructure to drive genomic medicine innovation from both a research and clinical angle. The ideal candidate will be a board-certified MD or MD/PhD with extensive knowledge and a strong understanding of genomics, including gene editing, whole-genome sequencing, and gene therapy, with both research and clinical expertise in interpreting genomic variants, ideally in a genome center. Candidates must also be eligible for a faculty appointment at the Professor level in the Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine.
