The Senior Principal Soil Scientist is a distinguished leader in the field of soil science, driving innovative solutions that shape the agricultural industry. This senior role encompasses strategic leadership in developing strong scientific based agronomic recommendations and fostering robust stakeholder relationships to align technology advancements with business goals. What you will do:

Work with the Nutrien Agronomy (NAg) team to research and prototype new differentiated agronomic tools that have a strong basis in soil fertility and plant nutrition sciences. Oversee and direct comprehensive project analysis, development, and documentation, ensuring the creation of engineering-compatible solutions that meet strategic objectives. Provide expert technical guidance and mentorship to junior team members, fostering a culture of excellence and collaborative problem solving. Collaborate with business stakeholders, fellow scientists, and leadership to define clear objectives and ensure that science initiatives align with company-wide strategies. Lead by example, promoting positivity and professionalism across teams, and driving cross-functional collaboration within and beyond NAg. What you will bring:

Bachelors degree in Soil Science or related field, or experience in lieu of. PhD preferred. 8+ years of relevant experience in the soil science domain. Knowledge of the North American ag market space required. 10+ years of relevant experience preferred. Expertise in applied domains such as statistics, soil microbiome and sustainability preferred. Experience with crop input product formulation, development, testing and/or commercialization. Knowledge of both broadacre and specialty crops preferred.
