VPU Context

The World Bank Group Gender Strategy 2024-30 aims to accelerate gender equality to end poverty on a livable planet. The strategy emphasizes the importance of gender equality for global development, focusing on foundational wellbeing, economic participation, and women's leadership.

Unit Context

The Gender Group drives progress and inspires action across the World Bank Group to implement the Gender Strategy, achieve targets, and meet gender equality goals. It collaborates with various units to deliver innovative solutions for clients.

Responsibilities:

Provide technical support to the Gender Group under the guidance of the Global Director, specifically:

Lead and coordinate the production of briefing notes, talking points, speeches, presentations, and technical inputs for various engagements.

Connect with staff across WBG to inform the Gender Group's strategic directions.

Manage requests for external engagements with stakeholders.

Respond to queries related to the Gender Group front office.

Coordinate participation in key events and summarize takeaways.

Support high-level partnership engagements and lead engagement with CSOs.

Contribute to the communication strategy of the Gender Group.

Selection Criteria:

Advanced degree in International Development/Affairs and/or Economics and Public Policy with a focus on gender issues.

A minimum of five years of relevant experience.

Experience in leading the preparation of briefs and analytical products.

Strong integrative thinking and project management skills.

Strong analytical writing ability and ability to synthesize technical material.
