Reporting to the Executive Director, the Social Media and Marketing Manager is responsible for the development and successful execution of a strategic social media and marketing plan that supports WAM’s external storytelling, increases WAM’s presence, grows WAM’s program enrollments and drives audience engagement. This role is responsible for creating compelling social media content and digital campaigns as well as regular newsletters and website content. This position will work in partnership with program staff across the organization to produce compelling marketing content to support the programs and initiatives for each department. Primary Objectives and Responsibilities

Create and execute a marketing schedule for social media, email newsletters, and all other types of communication assets. Develop engaging daily content on WAM’s social media platforms – Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, TikTok, LinkedIn, Threads and others - that effectively communicate WAM’s voice and optimize engagement, including hashtags, geolocation, and other strategies/trends. Create digital content, capturing photos/videos, generating graphics for social media channels, website, educational materials and newsletters. Produce weekly to bi-monthly email campaigns in Mailchimp or similar platform. Ensure consistent strategy, accuracy and consistency. Identify target audience segments and develop targeted marketing strategies tailored to donor, student, educator, ally segments. Research, develop, and maintain third party promotional partnerships and relationships (sponsorships, etc.) Manage donated Google Ads/other donated advertising Work in collaboration with the contracted web design and development team to manage website updates. Manage and expand WAM’s media list, cultivating strong relationships with journalists, bloggers and influencers. Ensure that press releases are created/launched as needed in conjunction with general marketing schedule. Create events and monitor ticket sales utilizing platforms such as Eventbrite,, or similar platforms. Work with graphic design consultants as needed for projects that require additional support, ensuring that the products are of the highest quality and that they adhere to the WAM image/brand. Provide event support as needed. As needed, assist with the managing of vendors/contractors/external agencies relevant to marketing. Qualifications

4 to 5 years of experience in marketing and communications 4-5 years of experience in creating and designing compelling social media content and digital campaigns. Video and photo capture/editing required. 4-5 years of experience working with social media platforms – Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, TikTok, LinkedIn, etc. and digital marketing tools like Mailchimp, Hootsuite, WordPress and Eventbrite. Demonstrated experience managing a daily social media posting schedule. Experience managing department budgets to organizational goals. Advanced proficiency with marketing tools, digital marketing, and related platforms. Advanced proficiency in market segmentation strategies Advance understanding of digital marketing tactics, graphic design, photo/video editing, Google Ads/Analytics. Experience with event production and campaigns. Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced, energetic, and creative work environment and able to meet competing deadlines. Self-starter and able to handle multiple tasks concurrently. Preferred Qualifications

Videography and video editing experience Experience using professional photo/video cameras Event production and support experience Fun, engaging and compelling writing style - able to find creative ways to illustrate stories Experience and understanding of Google Ads and Google Analytics Strong analytical skills and data-driven thinking Experience specific to nonprofits, the arts, and/or STEM fields Ideal Candidate Profile
