Excellent! We are now looking for a senior team-player with deep knowledge of Intellectual Property (IP) and licensing issues to strengthen our group of highly skilled lawyers based in Stockholm.
The IP & Technology Legal Affairs team is a division within Group Function Legal Affairs & Compliance and the head of the division reports to the Chief Legal Officer of the Ericsson Group. The team partners with all parts of Ericsson focusing on IP and technology, including IPR & Licensing, the unit that drives Ericsson's patent licensing business. As a part of the IP & Technology Legal Affairs team, you will navigate complex IP issues around the world, manage risk and be part of critical transactions, while upholding the highest ethical standards.
You will report to Head of IP & Technology Legal Affairs and be based in Stockholm, London, New York, or Dallas, but you will work in a global environment.
What you will do:
In this role, you will focus primarily on IP matters affecting our patent licensing and product businesses. You will need to thrive in a fast-paced environment that requires understanding of patented technologies and related economics as well as planning, communicating, and executing complex negotiation strategies.
You will combine your legal competence with an excellent business understanding to independently be a high quality and highly efficient legal partner to different teams within IPR & Licensing as well as other parts of Ericsson. This includes drafting, reviewing, and negotiating terms of licensing and other IP-related agreements and working cross-functionally with other business and legal teams.
As an in-house legal counsel, you will support compliance with laws and internal policies and governance protocols as well as follow and share changes in relevant legislation and caselaw. You will also help improve the know-how, quality and effectiveness of this team and always try to improve the ways of working for the team to be most impactful.
The skills you bring:
Master of Laws (LLM) or equivalent
10+ years of Standards Essential Patent (SEP) licensing experience, preferably from an in-house legal department.
Deep interest in technology and patents
Strong business knowledge and understanding
Experience and very skilled in negotiation
Excellent communication, analytical, and interpersonal skills as well as cultural awareness
High level of integrity and professionalism
Strategic problem-solving skills and ability to see the big picture while working with ambiguity and uncertainty.
Strong critical thinking skills, and ability to demonstrate sound judgment.
