The Knight Cancer Institute is seeking inpatient Advanced Practice Providers in the Center for Hematologic Malignancies (CHM) section of the Division of Hematology & Medical Oncology.
Function/Duties of Position
The inpatient APP is responsible for daily rounds in conjunction with the faculty physician, writing of daily notes and orders, coordinating care with the multidisciplinary team, coordinating the inpatient workflow of admissions and discharges, performing appropriate procedures (i.e., bone marrow biopsies, lumbar punctures, Ommaya taps, and administration of chemotherapy), and additional duties as assigned.
The inpatient APP team works collaboratively in a clinical and teaching capacity with opportunities to attend and participate in relevant educational conferences and Division-specific research protocols.
Scope and Range within Unit Population:
Adolescent through geriatric. Cellular therapy and bone marrow transplant patients, as well as patients undergoing treatment of hematologic and oncologic malignancies. Required Qualifications Applicants must have previous experience practicing independently in a clinical setting. Physician Assistant Required: Valid State of Oregon Physician Assistant license Current Physician Assistant license for State of Oregon State of Oregon Licensure with collaboration to practice in Oregon National board certification Preferred: Membership in professional organization Two years of oncology, hematology, bone marrow transplant and/or inpatient hospital medicine Nurse Practitioner Required: Valid State of Oregon Registered Nurse license Current Nurse Practitioner license for the state of Oregon State of Oregon Nurse Practitioner Prescriptive Privileges Acute Care Nurse Practitioner or hospital experience in the field of hematology/oncology Congruence between education, current national board certification, licensure, and OHSU job description and duties as listed above Preferred: Membership in professional nursing organization Two years of oncology, hematology, bone marrow transplant and/or inpatient hospital medicine Additional Details Please submit a resume and cover letter with your application.
