Redwood Credit Union (RCU) is seeking a dynamic and visionary leader to join our team as the VP of Community & Social Impact. The VP will drive getting the right things done, have key relationships in Napa and/or Marin, and lead the measurement, reporting, and analysis of RCU’s social impact performance, ensuring alignment with our strategic goals. This pivotal role requires world-class subject-matter expertise, strategic guidance, and thought-leadership to drive RCU’s community and social impact initiatives. The ideal candidate will identify, evaluate, and cultivate breakthrough impact opportunities, leveraging insights from adjacent industries and adapting proven solutions for RCU. They will collaborate with cross-functional teams to use social impact data for product innovation, service development, and resource allocation. This role demands a proven ability to inspire and mobilize team members at all levels, build strong partnerships with community organizations, and represent RCU in external forums to enhance our reputation as a leader in social impact.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Strategic Leadership:
Lead the measurement, reporting, and analysis of RCU’s social impact performance, ensuring alignment with the organization’s strategic goals and focus areas. Provide world-class subject-matter expertise, strategic guidance, and thought-leadership regarding RCU’s intersection of core business and commitment to community. Framework Development:
Drive the implementation and evolution of RCU’s social impact framework, ensuring its alignment with organizational goals and industry best practices. Develop and evolve social impact KPIs that evaluate impact and effectiveness in a business context and suggest data-driven recommendations for improvements. Stakeholder Communication:
Effectively communicate social impact findings to internal and external stakeholders through powerful storytelling. Program Oversight:
Provide strategic oversight and support for RCU’s community programs, ensuring alignment with the social impact framework and strategic goals. Budget Management:
Develop and implement annual budgets and plans for all RCU community programs, optimizing resource allocation to maximize social impact. Organizational Leadership:
Inspire and mobilize team members at all levels of the organization to actively engage in social impact efforts and contribute to RCU's collective mission. Partnership Building:
Build and maintain strong partnerships with community organizations and stakeholders to leverage resources and amplify RCU’s social impact. The person needs to have key relationships in Napa and/or Marin. Community Representation:
Represent RCU in the community, serving on relevant boards and committees and fostering positive relationships with key stakeholders. Data Analysis:
Analyze data, measurements, and KPIs to develop key insights and additional benchmarks. Industry Leadership:
Drive thought leadership and innovation in the field of social impact, staying abreast of emerging trends, best practices, and opportunities for collaboration. Experience and Qualifications: Educational Background:
A combination of education and experience equivalent to a bachelor’s degree in business management, public administration, or a related field. Professional Experience:
A minimum of twelve years of specific job-related experience, including nonprofit or community programs management, event and project management, and strategic relationship building. At least five years of this experience should be at an executive leadership level within large-scale, multi-faceted organizations. Preferred Experience:
Experience in higher education institutions and/or health systems, particularly in roles involving community development, social impact research, stakeholder engagement, and program development. Minimum Qualification: Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Excellent leadership skills with the ability to create strategic plans and direction. Strong project management and organizational skills. Exceptional communication skills, including written, oral, and presentation abilities. Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks and deadlines simultaneously. Strong collaboration and motivational skills. Proficiency with computers, software, and technology relevant to the role. Physical Requirements Ability to use a computer, software, keyboard, databases, and calculator. Ability to stand and lift up to 15 pounds. Ability to perform event setup tasks such as moving chairs and tables, organizing giveaways, and supporting booth setups. Base starting range: $156,707 to $206,488 annually commensurate with experience. Our base salary starting range is based on scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/training, key skills, and internal peer equity.
