Controller

to join their team!

Salary/Hourly Rate:

$80,000 - $90,000

Position Overview:

The Controller will be responsible for managing the financial activities of the firm, including accounting, budgeting, financial reporting, and compliance. This Controller role requires a hands-on approach and the ability to work closely with the firm's partners and administrative staff to ensure accurate and timely financial information.

Responsibilities of the Controller:

Financial Management:

Oversee all aspects of the firm's financial operations, including accounts payable, payroll, and general ledger management Develop and maintain financial policies and procedures to ensure efficient and accurate financial operations Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports

Budgeting and Forecasting:

Assist in the development of the annual budget and financial forecasts Monitor and analyze budget performance and provide variance analysis Provide strategic financial recommendations to support the firm's growth and profitability

Compliance and Auditing:

Ensure compliance with all applicable financial regulations and legal requirements Coordinate and manage annual audits and tax filings Maintain accurate and organized financial records for audit purposes

Cash Flow Management:

Monitor and manage the firm's cash flow to ensure adequate liquidity Prepare cash flow projections and identify potential financial risks

Financial Analysis:

Conduct financial analysis to support decision-making and strategic planning Provide financial insights and recommendations to improve operational efficiency and profitability

Team Collaboration:

Work closely with the firm's partners, attorneys, and administrative staff to support financial needs Provide training and guidance to staff on financial procedures and best practices

Qualifications for the Controller:

Minimum of 10 years of experience in accounting or financial management, preferably in a law firm or professional services environment Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, and budgeting processes Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Clio) and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint), Paylocity Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills Strong attention to detail and accuracy Ability to work independently and as part of a team Excellent verbal and written communication skills Education Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required Benefits:
