The Financial Controller plays a pivotal role in the financial well-being of our client, a leading company in their space in Maryland. This position oversees all aspects of accounting operations, ensuring accurate financial reporting, compliance with regulations, and development of strategic financial plans to support company growth.

Responsibilities:

Manage the entire accounting function, guaranteeing adherence to Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and internal controls. Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements (balance sheets, income statements, cash flow statements, fixed asset listing, quarterly debt schedule, liquidity tools, break even tools, overhead tools, productivity tools). Develop and implement budgeting and forecasting processes to guide financial planning and inform strategic decision-making. Manage cash flow, including accounts payable and receivable, to optimize financial resources. Lead internal audit procedures to ensure adherence to regulatory requirements. Analyze financial data and provide insightful reports to management, supporting business growth and profitability. Serve as the primary contact for external auditors during annual audits, such as workers compensation annual payroll audits. Manage the office staff, providing guidance and ensuring efficient processes. Manage all financial activities related to the 3rd party payroll we utilize to pay our employees. Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance (CPA not required but preferred). Minimum 5 years of experience in a financial controller or senior accounting role. Strong understanding of GAAP and accounting principles. Proficient in financial modeling, budgeting, and forecasting techniques. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with all levels of the organization. Meticulous attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy. Proficient in accounting software (QuickBooks desktop) and Enterprise software packages. Proficient in Excel, with the ability to design and understand spreadsheets with formulas.

$85,000 - $95,000 a year

Bonus incentives based on performance.
