Position Summary:

Full-time position under the Management Personnel Plan (MPP) available on or after July 1, 2022. Reporting directly to the President, the Vice President for Business and Finance/CFO is the chief financial and senior management officer and advisor to the President on the administrative support operations of the University.

The Vice President for Business & Finance/CFO has primary responsibilities for the following areas:

Institutional budget planning in support of the University's strategic plan.

Fiscal policy development.

Resource allocation analysis.

Budget development, control, and reporting.

Asset management.

Procurement and purchasing.

Financial accounting and business affairs.

Campus master planning, facilities, plant operations, and sustainability efforts.

Business auxiliary enterprises and revenue-generating external partnerships.

Oversight of philanthropic and business auxiliary endowment investments.

Safety, security, and emergency planning.

Risk management.

Other university-wide leadership responsibilities as assigned by the President.

Job Duties:

Duties include but are not limited to:

Advising the President on administrative, business, and finance matters.

Formulating, planning, improving, and implementing campus-wide administrative policies and procedures.

Planning, developing, and evaluating the University's administrative and information technology programs and services.

Working closely with the Associate Vice President for Human Resources, Equal Opportunity and Compliance.

Serving on relevant external and community boards and organizations as a university representative.

Consulting and coordinating with the Chancellor's Office as needed.

Directing State financial operations.

Assuring compliance with all State, Federal, and GAAP audit requirements.

Developing robust budget models based on data analytics.

Directing auxiliary financial operations.

Chairing the University Master Planning Advisory Committee.

Overseeing capital planning and maintenance activities.

Exploring and developing public-private partnerships (P3).

Working closely with various Vice Presidents to create a comprehensive budgetary and facilities plan.

Implementing a comprehensive IT administrative infrastructure.

Fostering strong relationships with all campus and community constituents.

Supporting The President's Commission on Diversity and Inclusion.

Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

Education: An advanced degree in Business Administration, Management, Accounting, or a closely related field.

Experience: A minimum of 10 years of progressively responsible administrative or professional accounting (or equivalent) experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

Knowledge of higher education issues and trends.

Ability to analyze complex problems and devise innovative solutions.

Ability to work independently and collaboratively.

Experience managing a budget in a complex environment.

Successful experience working with unions.

Special Conditions:
