Retina Specialist Physician Opportunity near LONG ISLAND CITY, NY We are currently looking for a skilled physician specializing in ophthalmology with a focus on medical and/or surgical retina to join our team in providing exceptional patient care. This is a permanent position, and we welcome applications from both experienced individuals with 2 years or more of experience and newly trained retina fellows. Ideal Candidate Qualities: Ability to diagnose and treat a diverse range of vitro-retinal conditions to enhance patient outcomes. Competency in diagnosis and treatment to maintain high standards of patient care and safety. Patient-centered approach, ensuring a positive patient experience. Excellent communication skills. Interest in population health management and value-based care. Responsibilities: Review patient medical history, reports, and examination results. Conduct retinal examinations and interpret various tests (OCT, photos, fluorescein angiograms, etc.). Evaluate, diagnose, and provide treatment for a variety of vitro-retinal conditions. Perform office-based procedures, including intravitreal injections, photocoagulation, and laser procedures. For surgical retinal specialists, conduct weekly outpatient surgical procedures such as vitrectomy, scleral buckling, membrane peeling, and macular hole repair. Prescribe medications and develop ongoing treatment plans. Collaborate with primary care providers, internal and external optometrists and ophthalmologists. Provide relationship-centered care, considering psychosocial and physical patient needs. Maintain accurate medical records. Communicate effectively with the clinical team. Qualifications: Doctor of Medicine (MD), Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO), or foreign equivalent. Completion of a three-year postgraduate medical training program in ophthalmology from a U.S. accredited residency. Completion of a medical or medical-surgical retina fellowship, preferably registered with AUPO-FCC. Board Eligible/Board Certified in Ophthalmology. Current, unrestricted New York State license or eligibility for licensure. Active Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) registration or eligibility. Active Medicare/Medicaid Enrollment or eligibility. Basic Life Support (BLS) required; Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) strongly preferred. Strong communication skills, both oral and written.
