Job Summary :
We are seeking a physician trained in ophthalmology with subspecialty training in medical and/or surgical retina to join us in pursuit of high-quality patient care to provide Ophthalmology services including but not limited to diagnosis, treatment, coordination of care, preventive care and health maintenance.
Responsibilities:
• Review patient medical history, reports and examination results. • Perform retinal examination, and order/interpret tests (OCT, photos, fluorescein angiograms, and other tests as appropriate). • Evaluate, diagnose, and provide appropriate treatment and patient care for a wide variety of vitro-retinal conditions. • Treat retinal diseases, such as diabetic retinopathy, vascular occlusions, and macular degeneration, • Perform office-based procedures, including: o Intravitreal injections. o Focal and pan-retinal photocoagulation. o Laser of retinal tears • Surgical retinal specialists will also perform weekly outpatient surgical procedures including: o Pars plana vitrectomy. o Scleral buckling. o Epiretinal membrane peeling. o Macular hole repair. • Prescribe medications and formulate ongoing treatment and disease management plans. • Recommend suitable management for the patient, including but not limited to, preventive health recommendations and habits. • Collaborate with primary care providers and internal and external optometrists and ophthalmologists, including internal virtual consults. • Provide relationship-centered care, taking into account the patient's psychosocial and physical needs. • Maintain complete and accurate medical records. • Communicate effectively with the clinical team to ensure total delivery of quality care. • Participate in medical staff educational programs and meetings.
The Ideal Candidate:
• Seeking both experienced - 2 years or above, and newly trained retina fellows • Ability to treat and diagnose a wide variety of vitro-retinal conditions and improve patient outcomes. • Demonstrate competency in diagnosis and treatment to assure high standards of patient care and safety are maintained. • Patient-centered approach toward a positive patient experience. • Excellent communication skills. • Interest in population health management and value-based care.
Qualifications:
• Doctor of Medicine (MD), Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO), or foreign equivalent • Completion of three year post graduate medical training from a U.S. accredited residency program in ophthalmology. • Completion of a medical or medical-surgical retina fellowship, preferably one registered with AUPO-FCC • Seeking both experienced - 2 years or above, and newly trained retina fellows • Board Eligible/Board Certified in Ophthalmology • Must possess current, unrestricted New York State license or be eligible for licensure • Must possess active Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) registration or be eligible for registration • Must possess active Medicare/Medicaid Enrollment or be eligible to enroll • Basic Life Support (BLS) (Required) or Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) strongly preferred • Must possess strong communication skills both oral and written • Comfortable with Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system and Microsoft Office
