Licensed Practical Nurse - 1st Shift

***Per G.S. 126-5(c1) (37), this position is Exempt from all provisions of NC General Statute Chapter 126 (State Human Resources Act) with the exception of Articles 6 and 7.***

Murdoch Developmental Center is currently recruiting for Licensed Practical Nurses on 1st shift. The primary purpose of the LPN position is to provide direct clinical services and medication and treatment administration. This LPN performs and documents nursing procedures and techniques as prescribed by the physician and outlined in the Person Centered Plan. This LPN performs duties under the supervision of a Registered Nurse. This LPN works with the RN in planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care.

Scheduled work hours/shift 1st shift, 6:30 am - 3:00 pm, 5 days per week; rotating weekends, and schedule adjustments as needed/required.

LPN 1st Shift Options:
  • 6:30am-3pm (8 hour)
  • 6:30am- 5pm (10 hour)
  • 6:30 am-7pm (12 hour) 36/48 alternating weeks

**Eligibility for Sign-on Bonus**
Qualified applicants must be selected from the candidate pool of this posting and meet the State policy following requirements:
A newly hired permanent full time or permanent part-time employee who works 30 to 40 hours per week is eligible for a sign-on bonus (this will be prorated for employees working less than 40 hours per week).
An employee is not eligible for a sign-on bonus if:
(1) the employee has held a position in North Carolina State government, including the judicial system, or the University of North Carolina system within the last 12 months (the employee shall remain ineligible for 12 months from the separation date);
(2) the employee has previously received a sign-on bonus from any State agency;
(3) or DHHS has paid any contract placement or recruitment fees.
