About The Outer Banks Hospital

The Outer Banks Hospital is a full-service critical access hospital offering a wide range of inpatient and outpatient services. The 21-bed facility is designed to meet the needs of the coastal community, whose year-round population of approximately 35,000 swells to about 350,000 in the summer season. Its campus includes four ORs, a medical/surgical unit, a labor & delivery suite with a dedicated caesarian section OR, a full rehabilitation therapy center, cancer treatment and radiation therapy center, and a 24-hour emergency department.

OBH is fully accredited, provides high quality care in a compassionate environment to all patients, regardless of their ability to pay, and has been nationally recognized for outstanding patient care.

Position Summary

Assists in providing direct quality patient care under the direction and supervision of a registered nurse. Participates in the assessment of patients. Assists in developing, implementing and evaluating/revising the plan of care.

Minimum Requirements
  • American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification
  • LPN Diploma
  • Active NC LPN License or compact state
  • Current American Heart Association BLS is required upon hire
  • Demonstrates competencies in nursing practice.
  • Basic computer skills with excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Must be able to provide care to all patient populations
  • Three months of relative work experience is preferred
  • Working knowledge of equipment utilization, maintenance and safety
Other Information
  • This is a full-time position with benefits
  • Shift - Days, Monday - Friday, 36 hours per week, Float position
  • Hours and days vary based on the clinics the team member floats
  • May be able to pick up shifts on the weekends if supporting the Urgent Cares (but not required)
