JOB SUMMARY:
The Grants & Development Sr. Specialist is responsible for managing NNEDV’s grant portfolio, including securing new and continued sources of federal and private grant revenue. This position oversees compliance, reporting, and data management for federal cooperative agreements and private grants. The Grants & Development Sr. Specialist also collaborates with NNEDV’s finance and program teams to ensure grants are managed according to funder guidelines, supporting the organization’s mission through successful grants management. This role also develops and implements individual donor campaigns, coordinates fundraising events, and produces donor communications and reports. This position plays a key part in expanding NNEDV’s funding base and achieving fundraising goals.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Grant Management for Public Awards:
Maintain and organize grant files for federal and cooperative agreement projects.
Track multiple deadlines and coordinate with program staff to ensure timely submissions of grant reports and modifications.
Draft, review, and submit quarterly and semiannual reports to federal funders.
Manage all program requests for federally funded projects and track funder approval processes.
Grant Compliance:
Collaborate with program and finance teams to ensure compliance with federal grant guidelines and funder special conditions.
Work with finance staff to monitor project budgets and meet financial requirements for each funded project.
Attend regular meetings with program and finance staff to ensure compliance with federal grants financial guidance.
Donor Stewardship and Management:
Build and nurture relationships with individual donors, corporate sponsors, and foundation funders.
Manage a major donor program, creating tailored strategies to engage and retain high-impact donors.
Draft individual donor communications, including gift acknowledgments and donor impact reports.
Digital Fundraising and Engagement:
Develop and execute a digital fundraising strategy, including e-mail campaigns, social media outreach, and Giving Tuesday activities.
Write and design content for online fundraising initiatives and acknowledgment letters.
Special Events and Sponsorship Management:
Plan and coordinate fundraising events, managing event logistics, sponsorship solicitations, and post-event follow-up.
Secure event sponsorships to support NNEDV’s programs and annual signature events.
Prospect Research and Fundraising:
Conduct research on potential individual, corporate, foundation, and major donors.
Prepare and submit letters of intent and grant applications aligned with organizational and programmatic goals.
Knowledge Management and Communication:
Implement standardized data collection and reporting processes across programs, using tools like Google Analytics, WordPress, and SurveyMonkey.
Support relationship management with federal and private funders, ensuring effective communication and follow-up.
Produce metrics and data summaries for grant reporting and funder updates.
Grant Research and Proposal Development:
Research government, corporate, and foundation funding opportunities that align with organizational needs.
Write and submit competitive grant proposals and letters of intent.
Track progress on applications and follow up as needed to secure funding.
Grants Management for Private Awards:
Manage grant files and deliverables for private funders, ensuring timely submission of reports and reapplications.
Track application deadlines and coordinate with staff to meet funder requirements.
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Education and Experience:
Minimum of 5 years of experience in grant writing and management, including experience with government grants and cooperative agreements, a proven track record of managing donor relationships and securing funding.
Experience managing OVW, OVC, or FVPSA grants is preferred, with DOJ Grants Financial Management Training certification desirable.
Skills and Abilities:
Excellent writing, editing, and communication skills, with attention to detail and accuracy.
Strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with data analytics tools (SurveyMonkey, Google Analytics, etc.).
Demonstrated commitment to NNEDV’s mission, including an understanding of coalition work, anti-violence, and racial equity initiatives
Location:
This is a remote position with potential travel required for team meetings and conferences.
