Job Overview:
A law firm in Washington, DC, seeks a Mid-Level Finance Associate Attorney to join their team. The ideal candidate will have 4-6 years of experience representing banks, commercial finance companies, private debt funds, and other lenders in various financing transactions. Experience with UCC Article 9 perfection provisions, mortgage/title insurance issues, and loan workouts/restructurings is highly desirable.
Duties:
Represent banks, commercial finance companies, private debt funds, and other lenders in structuring, documenting, and closing asset-based, real estate, healthcare, and general middle market financing transactions.
Provide legal counsel and support throughout the financing process, including due diligence, negotiation, and agreement drafting.
Conduct legal research and analysis on complex finance matters.
Collaborate with senior attorneys and partners to develop strategies and solutions for clients.
Assist in preparing legal documents, including loan agreements, security, and closing documents.
Handle client communications and maintain strong client relationships.
Requirements:
4-6 years of experience practicing law, focusing on finance transactions.
Admitted to practice as an attorney in Washington, DC.
Strong understanding of UCC Article 9 perfection provisions and mortgage/title insurance issues.
Experience with loan workouts and restructurings is a plus.
Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
Attention to detail and strong analytical skills.
Education:
Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
Certifications:
Admission to the Washington, DC Bar (or eligibility for admission).
