As a Software Tester, you will play a key role in ensuring high-quality problem resolution and user satisfaction through both manual and automated testing. You will design, build, and test complex, custom-designed multi-tier business applications that leverage a wide range of technologies. You will be responsible for assisting internal and external customers in effectively resolving issues and ensuring optimal functionality. This role includes developing test plans and scenarios based on requirements and design specifications, creating comprehensive reports, and performing data validation and code verification across all environments.
Responsibilities: Drive the software quality assurance lifecycle within an Agile process. Conduct functional, regression, unit, scenario, feature, smoke, system integration, quality assurance, verification, validation, and Section 508 testing. Collaborate closely with teams to create detailed test plans and scenarios for both manual and automated tests, story grooming and story pointing. Develop and execute automated UI and functional tests. Utilize a variety of testing tools and methods to ensure comprehensive test coverage. Perform validation and verification of data and new/enhanced code across multiple environments. Assist in the resolution of issues efficiently and effectively for internal and external customers. Required Qualifications:
Strong knowledge and experience in object-oriented concepts, agile methodology, and both automated and manual testing tools. Experience writing test scenarios, plans, and detailed test cases for both automated and manual testing. Proficiency with industry-standard backend databases, Java, Postman, Playwright, Zephyr Test Suite, JAWS, and Dbeaver. Experience with MS Office, Teams, SharePoint, Atlassian Jira, and Confluence. 5-7 years of testing experience, including experience with Federal compensation claims processing systems. Test automation engineering skills are preferred. Expertise in Section 508 compliance (certification preferred). Ability to obtain a Public Trust
Working Environment & Conditions
This job operates in a professional office environment and has a noise level of mostly low to moderate. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.
This position is primarily indoors, consistent with a standard office position and has a noise level of mostly low to moderate. The incumbent is required to stand, walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; talk and hear. The workload may require the incumbent to sit for extended periods of time. The incumbent must be able to read, do simple math calculations and withstand moderate amounts of stress.
The incumbent must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 lbs. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
