The duties of an Assistant are not limited to the functions below. The expanded functions that dental assistants are allowed to perform in a dental office are dictated by Ohio's dental board.
- Assisting the dentist during a variety of treatment procedures
- Capturing quality dental radiographs (x-rays)
- Perform efficient and accurate procedures as directed by the Dentist, while maintaining the schedule and patient flow
- Carryout infection control protocol- preparing and sterilizing instruments and equipment
- Providing patients with instructions for oral care following surgery or other dental treatment procedures, as directed by the Dentist
- With the direction of the Dentist, education patients on appropriate oral hygiene strategies to maintain oral health (e.g., toothbrushing, flossing, home care)
- Taking impressions of patients' teeth for diagnostic casts
- Inventory
REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Expanded Functions Dental Assistant Certificate, if applicable
- 1 year dental practice experience (Preferred); recent grads will be considered
- X-Ray Certification
- CPR Certification (we can assist with obtaining this)
- CBCT/Digital x-ray experience (Preferred)
- Prior experience with dental management software - Dentrix Ascend preferred, but will train the right candidate

- Ability to comply with safety procedures, rules, and regulations in order to maintain a clean and safe working environment
- Strong working knowledge of dental terminology, equipment, and practices
