Trinity Washington University, a comprehensive institution in the nation’s capital is seeking a dynamic Data Systems Analyst to join the Technology team. A successful candidate will be proactive, results-oriented, and capable of recommending and implementing software solutions across the university. Candidates with backgrounds in software administration, database administration, program analysis, or systems administration are particularly well-suited for this position.
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Data Systems Analyst is a key member of the Technology Services unit, dedicated to providing exceptional technical support and services. This full-time role focuses on supporting enterprise applications and their interfaces, such as the student information system (SIS), financial aid application, CRM, and more, to deliver essential institutional services. Additionally, the Analyst will play a crucial role in database development and creating/maintaining data pipelines to facilitate institutional research and integrations.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide ongoing support for the institution's SIS (Ellucian PowerCampus), ancillary systems (CollegeBoard PowerFaids, Element451 CRM), and other relevant applications.
- Plan, coordinate, and implement enhancements to the university's databases and SIS, including lifecycle upgrades, patch management, and application customizations.
- Assist in evaluating, planning, and migrating the SIS to a new platform.
- Develop ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) data integrations using low-code/no-code tools to automate business processes for on-premise and cloud services consumed by end-users.
- Maintain comprehensive documentation on standard operating procedures.
- Efficiently prioritize and complete assigned tasks with minimal supervision.
- Create and respond to customer tickets with a high degree of customer satisfaction.
- Contribute to efforts to optimize application performance and reduce system downtime.
- Assist in implementing and maintaining security measures to protect sensitive data and prevent unauthorized access.
- Stay updated on emerging technologies and explore opportunities to leverage them to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- 3+ years of experience programming in SQL, Python, or similar languages.
- 3+ years of experience supporting an enterprise ERP/SIS/CRM, such as Ellucian PowerCampus, Colleague, Banner, Starfish, WorkDay, SalesForce, or a similar platform.
- Experience developing data pipelines for extracting, transforming, and loading datasets from on-premises and cloud data sources; experience with JSON and RESTful APIs are a plus.
- Solid understanding of relational database management system (RDBMS) concepts, including database backups, restorations, and the creation of stored procedures and views.
- Experience with business intelligence and reporting tools is a plus.
- Strong commitment to information security with demonstrated knowledge of applicable data use and sharing safeguards.
- Demonstrated ability to handle complex tasks independently and within a team.
- Experience managing small-scale projects or initiatives is a plus.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Note: This position is eligible for telework one day a week but may be subject to change based on the institution's needs.
