Robert Half is looking for some seasonal reception coverage for a busy tax office in North Kansas City. This receptionist role will be responsible for answering phones, greeting clients and guests and handling data entry. This position requires at least 2 years' experience in a receptionist role. Having some tax experience is a plus. This receptionist role will work alternate Saturdays. Software includes Microsoft Word and Excel. The receptionist candidate must be able to complete the assignment dates of January-April 15th.


Operating Hours are Monday-Friday 9am-6pm; shifts can be 8 hours within that time frame, and alternating every other Saturday, 9am-4pm.


Responsibilities:

• Greeting guests and clients, either in person or over the phone, and addressing or directing inquiries

• Using Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel to carry out various office tasks

• Performing data entry tasks with a high degree of precision and efficiency

• Implementing basic office skills to carry out daily administrative tasks

• Ensuring the smooth operation of the reception area and timely completion of all tasks

• Providing necessary information and support to clients and guests

• Handling incoming calls and directing them to the appropriate personnel.

• Applicant must possess basic office skills, including answering phones, scheduling appointments, and managing office supplies inventory.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word is required, including creating and editing documents, formatting text, and using templates.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel is required, including creating and editing spreadsheets, using formulas, and generating reports.
• Previous experience in a reception role, particularly within the tax consulting industry, is highly desirable.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, are required to interact with clients and staff professionally.
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to multitask are essential to manage various administrative tasks simultaneously.
• Attention to detail is necessary to maintain accurate records and manage information effectively.
• Ability to work independently and take initiative in a fast-paced environment is required.
• Confidentiality and discretion are essential due to the sensitive nature of the information handled in the role.
• A positive attitude and strong customer service skills are required to provide a welcoming environment for clients.
