This role primarily functions in the healthcare and social assistance industry and requires a high level of organization and detail orientation. The workplace is a large medical office setting where you will be pivotal in maintaining smooth operations and providing excellent customer service.
Responsibilities:
• Accurately documenting transactions such as co-payments collection
• Utilizing EMR (Electronic Medical Records) to maintain and ensure the confidentiality of patient records
• Providing exceptional customer service to patients and their families, fostering a supportive and welcoming environment
• Handling phone calls in a detail oriented manner, providing necessary information and directing them as required
• Utilizing Microsoft Office skills, particularly Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word, to perform various administrative tasks
• Scheduling appointments effectively and managing the appointment book
• Verifying insurance coverage of patients and obtaining necessary details
• Applying knowledge of medical front office operations and medical terminology effectively
• Managing multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-paced environment.• Applicant must have at least 1 year of experience in a similar role or healthcare setting
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word is essential
• Proven experience working in a medical office or medical front office setting is required
• Familiarity with EMR (Electronic Medical Records) is a key requirement
• Experience with patient check-in procedures is necessary
• The candidate should be comfortable working in a fast-paced, patient-centric environment
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are crucial
• Knowledge of healthcare industry, hospitals, and social assistance is expected
• Ability to handle sensitive patient information with confidentiality
• High school diploma or equivalent is required; further education in medical administration is a plus
