We are on the hunt for a skilled Medical Receptionist to join our team in Berkeley, California. This role primarily involves managing patient records, coordinating with physicians and insurance companies, and ensuring smooth operation of front office tasks. This opportunity offers a short term contract employment.
Responsibilities:
• Accurate and efficient processing of patient credit applications
• Maintenance of comprehensive and correct patient credit records
• Responding to patient inquiries and resolving any issues that may arise
• Regular monitoring of patient accounts and initiating appropriate actions if required
• Utilization of new technologies and programs such as EMR, insurance websites, phone systems, and credit card processing tools
• Management of incoming mail, including opening, processing, and distribution
• Timely response to voicemails and returning phone calls to patients, physicians, and insurance/billing companies
• Preparation, distribution, and response to all office correspondence
• Scheduling of patient appointments and ensuring all physician coverage information is posted
• Attendance at all staff and department meetings, as well as employee training sessions
• Assisting other staff, including other divisions, as required
• Ensuring shared office areas are clean and free of clutter or messy paperwork.• Minimum of 1 year experience in a similar role or relevant field
• Proficiency in Allscripts and Cerner Technologies
• Knowledge of Dentrix Dental Software and Eaglesoft is required
• Familiarity with EHR SYSTEM and ability to answer inbound calls professionally
• Experience in handling billing functions and preparing charts and graphs
• Understanding of clinical trial operations
• Proficiency in EMR (Electronic Medical Records) and Electronic Medical Record systems
• Experience in managing switchboards and phone lines (1-10 lines)
• Knowledge of Salesforce Administration is beneficial
• Experience in handling insurance referrals, verifications, and authorizations
