ABOUT YOU

As a Heavy Equipment Operator (Bargaining Unit, Local Union No. 25), you are technically skilled and detail-oriented, with a strong focus on safety. Proficient in operating a diverse range of heavy equipment, you thrive in performing preventative maintenance and tackling physically demanding tasks. Your adaptability and basic maintenance skills enable you to handle emergencies efficiently, ensuring smooth operations. By fostering teamwork and prioritizing effective communication, your responsibilities align with Massport's overarching objective of maintaining infrastructure, cleanliness, and safety.

What you will do:
  • Operate a variety of heavy equipment, including plows, loaders, backhoes, and more.
  • Conduct landscaping tasks such as cutting grass, trimming hedges, and maintaining plants and trees.
  • Remove trash and debris from the airfield and performs painting and sweeping duties.
  • Assist in minor repairs, maintenance, and emergency response as directed, ensuring the airport's smooth operation and safety.
WHAT YOU OFFER
  • Ability to read; basic oral, written and mathematical skills. Includes manual skills and the ability to operate machinery.
  • 5 years' airport related experience strongly preferred.
  • Massachusetts CDL "A" and hoisting license.
