Job Description
The Healthcare Recruiter is a human resources specialist who focuses on recruiting medical professionals for St. John’s Community Health (SJCH). The Healthcare Recruiter sources candidates for SJCH clinic, social services, and administrative roles. Responsible for screening candidates, reviewing resumes, communicating with job seekers and hiring managers, with an understanding of grant and SJCH requirements. The Healthcare Recruiter leads the effort to attract and hire qualified and competent candidates who embrace SJCH’s Mission and values. This position builds rapport with candidates and hiring managers and exercises judgment in the performance of their responsibilities to interview applicants, develop recruitment plans, advertise and market positions via the career site and social media, build candidate pools, and retain and grow talent.

Education & Experience
- 2-3 years of direct healthcare recruitment experience; non-profit experience, preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree in human resources, business administration or related field or related background.
- Knowledge of recruitment best practices and hiring trends in the competitive Southern California healthcare sector.

- Strong written and oral communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work with all levels of management.
- Ability to assess and evaluate candidate qualifications, job experience, and transferrable skills.
- Knowledge of California labor laws, employment regulations, and industry trends.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Performs a combination, but not necessarily all, of the following duties:
- Responsible for Full Cycle recruitment and understanding the hiring requirements of hiring manager, including, but not limited to: sourcing, screening, interviewing, negotiating, developing recruitment strategies, maintaining a database, participating in recruitment events, providing guidance, and supporting new hires throughout the onboarding process.
- Regularly reports to Talent Acquisition Manager with progress updates and supporting metrics.
- Regularly partners with hiring manager to anticipate and plan for clinic staffing needs in advance of required start date.
- Attracts candidates through various channels including social media and professional networks.
- Sources candidates through cold calling, search engines, referrals, networking, career fairs, and other avenues.
- Makes recommendations regarding recruitment programs, budgets, and collateral to attract applicants and to fill specific job openings.
- Reviews resumes and screens candidate, following-up with applicants regarding their applicant status.
- Post job requisitions following approved budgets to both internal and external websites.
- Supports managers with the development and updating of job descriptions aligning with grant and SJCH requirements.
- Schedules interviews by coordinating with candidates and hiring manager and conducts phone and in-person interviews to ensure applicants meet licensing, certification, education and experience requirements.
- Creates and delivers job offers to both internal and external candidates ensuring that all required documentation is exchanged with approval signatures.
- Manages relationships with external agencies and vendors who advertise and promote targeted jobs.
- Develops and maintains relationships with colleges, agencies, and other sources of high-quality candidates.
- Identifies and recruits Mission-driven candidates to fulfill SJCH’s talent acquisition strategy and supports the building of a world-class team.
