CBIZ is assisting our client in their search for a HR Director in Great Neck, NY.
Summary
The position will be responsible for all HR functions, and as a service organization, securing the right talent is paramount to our success. The right candidate will help the senior management team build and maintain a work culture focused on intellectual curiosity, compassion, shared values, work ethic, GRIT, and the sheer joy of loving the change we can bring to the world.
Responsibilities
- Oversight of recruitment, including posting positions, advertising, sourcing resumes, candidate interview scheduling, offer approval process facilitation (broad scope from software developers to nurses, doctors, and social workers) -- currently seeking a Talent Acquisition Specialist as a direct report
- New employee orientation, direct presentation and coordinating with other departments to create a robust and informative process
- Research, contribution to and management of compensation models, including incentive comp
- Employee relations, counseling, improvement plans, terminations, exit interviews
- Policies and procedure development on areas including recruitment, on-boarding, performance management, progressive counseling, and separations, leave administration, annual reviews, document management and retention, including updates.
- Performance reviews
- HR compliance and legal issues
- Administration of employee benefits

- Preparation and ongoing maintenance of employee records
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Human Resources, or related field required
- Minimum 5+ years’ experience in Human Resources with generalist responsibilities; healthcare preferred
- Strong knowledge of HR regulations and compliance
- Detail oriented, strong organizational and time management skills to anticipate and plan time accordingly
- Strong negotiation skills
- Demonstrated ability to handle sensitive employee information with strict adherence to confidentiality protocols
- Ability to work well in a small HR team and on self-directed tasks to meet deadlines
- Ability to adapt to shifting priorities while maintaining a primary focus on core responsibilities
- Excellent in-person, email, and phone communication skills
- Strong work ethic, and commitment to excellence

Experience
- Human Resources (Generalist): 5-8 years (Preferred)
- Benefits Administration: 2 years (Preferred)
- HR Compliance (regulatory): 3-5 years (Preferred)
- Employee Relations: 3-5 years (Preferred)
- Career Development: 2 years (Preferred)
- Corporate Culture Building: 2 years (Preferred)
- Policy & Procedures Development & Oversight: 3-5 years (Preferred)
