Job Description:

The HR Generalist will oversee a wide range of HR functions, including onboarding, employee relations, compliance, and benefits administration. This role is ideal for professionals who thrive in a fast-paced environment and excel at balancing multiple priorities while providing exceptional support to a diverse workforce.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate onboarding processes to ensure a seamless experience for new hires.
  • Respond to employee and manager inquiries, providing clear guidance on HR-related matters.
  • Ensure compliance with employment regulations, including FMLA, OSHA, and EEOC standards.
  • Manage benefits administration and assist employees with enrollment and claims.
  • Conduct background checks and verify employment eligibility for new hires.
  • Maintain accurate records in the HRIS system and generate key HR reports.
  • Collaborate with payroll to address employee data and payment issues.
  • Handle employee relations, including resolving conflicts and supporting performance management.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field; HR certifications are a plus.
  • Experience: 2-5 years of HR experience, with expertise in employee relations, compliance, and benefits administration.
  • Union Experience: Must have experience working with unions and unionized workforces.
  • Skills: Proficiency in HRIS systems (Paycom preferred), Mac systems, and Microsoft Office.
  • Language: Knowledge of the local job market and bilingual capabilities in English and Spanish.

Additional Details:

This is a hybrid role requiring some in-office work in Rockville, MD. You will collaborate closely with leadership and the HR team to drive organizational goals.
