The Regional Head of Human Resources for the Americas region will lead and support a comprehensive range of HR responsibilities across the region, including Argentina, Brazil, Canada, Chile, Costa Rica, Colombia, Mexico, Peru, and the United States. This role is pivotal in aligning HR strategy with business objectives and addressing HR business needs.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Define and align HR strategies with business objectives to drive organizational success.
  • Act as a strong HR Business Partner to regional management on all HR-related matters.
  • Proactively assess and address HR needs across the Americas region.
  • Foster collaboration among Geos/General Management, Products, Sales, and supporting functions to promote a matrix mindset.
  • Collaborate with the Regional CEO and Country Managing Directors on HR decisions, including hiring, terminations, target setting, and performance appraisals for Country HR Managers.
  • Advise regional management on a range of HR issues, including employee relations, engagement, compensation, policy interpretation, staffing, and succession planning, acting as a point of escalation when necessary.
  • Responsible for the definition and implementation of HR processes along the employee life cycle.
  • Oversee discretionary incentive and management bonus plans, identify eligible roles, communicate requirements, and ensure compliance while seeking opportunities for improvement.
  • Create a strong HR network across the Region and guide country HR Managers on key topics such as strategic HR planning, compensation and benefits, employee relations, learning and development, compliance and risk management, organizational development, HR technology and systems, and policy evaluation.
  • Drive HR Excellence within the Region through digitalization and automation of HR processes.
  • Professional and disciplinary management of HR departments and operational HR.
  • Strong collaboration with Global HR to develop and implement strategic HR processes.
  • Collaborate with regional Heads of HR from other regions to share best practices, updates, and work on global initiatives.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

This position does supervise direct reports.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business or related field or equivalent combination of education and work experience will be considered in lieu of educational requirement.
  • Minimum five years of HR Director experience preferably supporting operations and/or multiple locations within the geography of North America and LATAM.
  • Strong Knowledge of HR best practice, systems and solutions.
  • High level of experience in the definition and rollout of strategic HR processes, such as performance management and succession planning.
  • Experience in the rollout of a global HR system, preferably Workday.
  • SHRM-CP a plus.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ATTRIBUTES:

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Email, and Internet - should have proficiency with basic Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, etc.).
  • Sense of urgency – ability to handle multiple and competing priorities in a timely manner.
  • Project Management must have experience with project work.
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as premium rates, deductions, commissions, compensation details, etc.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish skills required.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • Frequently required to stand, and walk.
  • Regularly required to sit for extended periods.
  • Regularly uses arms to reach, hands and fingers for computer and phone use.
  • Speaking clearly and listening for heavy phone contact.
  • Requires close-up and computer screen distance vision ability.
  • Requires overnight domestic and international travel of approximately 30%.
