Program Manager, Environmental and Waste Management
Position Summary:
Program Manager, Environmental and Waste Management, is responsible for managing all aspects of environmental and waste management programs for ACO facility in Piketon, Ohio. Management of the site environmental and waste programs require the incumbent to direct and monitor environmental and waste sampling to ensure compliance with environmental regulations to protect site personnel, the environment and public. The position requires strong familiarity with applicable environmental and waste management regulations as well as effective written, organizational and oral communication skills. The individual maintains working relationships with all layers of management as well as federal, state and local regulators.
Job Responsibilities:
Must be able to interface directly with various regulatory agencies such as the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), Department of Transportation (DOT), and Department of Energy (DOE). Coordinate with the above regulatory agencies as necessary to obtain required environmental permits. Provide environmental and waste regulatory guidance/interpretation to line organizations, as necessary.
Responsible for managing site compliance with various environmental programs such as Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA), Comprehensive Environmental Response, Compensation, and Liability Act (CERCLA), Clean Air Act, Clean Water Act, Safe Drinking Water Act (SDWA), Emergency Planning and Community Right-to-Know Act (EPCRA), National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES), Spill Prevention Control and Countermeasures (SPCC), Title V, National Emission Standards for Hazardous Air Pollutants (NESHAP), and Toxic Substances Control Act (TSCA).
Responsible for overseeing the maintenance and updates to Chapter 9 of the American Centrifuge Plant License Application Chapter 9 and the associated Environmental Report. Responsible for interaction with the NRC regarding the development of Environmental Assessments (EA) and Environmental Impact Statements (EIS) in accordance with National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA). Serves as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) regarding environmental issues.
The Individual is responsible for managing site compliance with federal, state, and NRC regulations and adheres to company policies, procedures, code of conduct and security program requirements.
Provide Environmental, Waste and Industrial Safety staffing and budgetary input for existing operations and various project bids and proposals
Implement the Centrus Energy Corp. Diversity and Equal Employment Policy and the Affirmative Action Program
Has the authority to propose, develop and/or implement new programs, processes, and procedures or revise existing programs, processes, and procedures as necessary to fulfill mission objectives within the bounds of regulating agencies.
Other Duties as Assigned by management.
Decision Making and Impact:
Program Manager, Environmental and Waste Management is responsible for programmatic oversight environmental monitoring and waste management. As such, the position has the responsibility and authority to:
Must possess or be able to obtain and maintain a DOE "Q" level security clearance.
Minimum Education
Preferred Education and Experience:
Experience in managing radiological and hazardous waste.
Experience working in NRC regulated facilities.
Experience with Environmental Assessments (EA) and Environmental Impact Statements (EIS) in accordance with National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA)
In compliance with federal law, all persons hired will be required to verify identity and eligibility to work in the United States and to complete the required employment eligibility verification form upon hire.
This position will require a pre-employment background check and a pre-employment drug test.

- Bachelor's degree in environmental, safety, engineering, physical sciences, or equivalent technical experience.
- Four years of experience working within environmental and waste management programs, four of those years in nuclear industry.
- One year of experience with the development and management of environmental and waste related programs (including procedure and training development).
