- Worksite Location: On-site in Chicago, IL (Evergreen Park/South Chicago City)
Accounting Manager Job Summary:
The Accounting Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the accounting department, ensuring accurate financial reporting, and maintaining compliance with relevant laws and regulations. This role combines leadership, technical accounting expertise, and strategic planning to support organizational goals.
What you'll do as the Accounting Manager:
- Supervise and manage the general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and other accounting functions.
- Assist in preparation, review, and analyzing financial statements and reports to ensure accuracy and compliance with standards.
- Manage month end closing procedures/steps to ensure financials are completed timely.
- Manage intercompany processing and reporting, including allocations of expenses monthly amongst the various companies.
- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of accounting specialists.
- Ensure adherence to GAAP, IFRS, or other relevant accounting standards.
- Participate in the evaluating current accounting practices and processes, recommending and implementing improvements for efficiency and accuracy.
- Participate in ERP system conversion; targeted to be completed in 2025.
- Assist in developing project budgets and procedures to support Reconstruction in efficiently running projects.
What you'll bring to the Accounting Manager role:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- 7+ years accounting experience
- 2+ years supervisory or management experience
- Franchise accounting experience (preferred)
- Proficiency in spreadsheets and databases
- Thorough knowledge and demonstrated skills in accounting and financial policies, procedures, and reporting
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g. Quickbooks online, Sage or other)
