Responsibilities:
Supervise and mentor accounting staff and team members.
Manage the monthly financial close process, including ensuring all costs incurred are properly recorded, reviewing journal entries, account balance reconciliations and report preparation.
Continued focus on improving system efficiencies and business practices.
Collaborate with external auditors to ensure successful audit results and compliance.
Collaborate with external tax accountants to ensure successful year-end tax filings and compliance.
Actively involve in the day-to-day accounting duties in the general accounting areas.
Reconcile Balance Sheet and P L Accounts.
Preparation of financial statements.
Research technical accounting issues for compliance
Review general ledger accounts and resolve accounting/reconciliation issues.
Maintain inventory and cost control procedures.
Support monthly, quarterly, and year-end close, including oversight of company-wide consolidation process
Sales Use Tax Filing for multi-state (California, State of Washing, Nevada, Idaho and Texas)
Work closely with Operations to assist them in their accounting needs and/or resolve accounting matters.
Review and identify opportunities for simplification and automation in the current financial processes and systems
Support process system improvements through leading and participating in various project initiatives
Prepare and support internal management reporting
Other ad hoc duties as assigned
Flexibility in scheduling and hours of work required

This person will assist in managing the monthly closing of accounts, financial statement review, and preparation of reports in support if the financial statements.
The ideal Accounting Manager candidate will possess leadership capabilities, solid operational and technical accounting background and works proactively to drive results. This person is a self-starter, flexible, has a high level if integrity and is action and goal-oriented in a fast-paced, team -oriented, collaborative environment.

Qualifications
- 5+ years in corporate accounting, including full cycle accounting
- 3+ years’ experience in a managerial or supervisory role.
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting and/or Finance Required
- In-depth understanding of US GAAP
- Experience working in the multi-unit restaurants and/or retail – preferably.
- Ability to execute deadline driven processes in a fast pace environment.
- Strong experience with Excel
