SHR Talent is hiring: Accounting Manager in Jacksonville Beach

SHR Talent is partnering with a client in near the metropolitan area of Jacksonville Beach, FL in its search for an experienced and detail-oriented Accounting Manager. As an Accounting Manager, you will play a critical role in maintaining the financial health of the company while supporting strategic business decisions and you will oversee all accounting operations including an accounting team, ensuring accurate financial reporting, compliance with regulatory standards, the implementation of best practices in accounting, and working directly with the company's Controller.

The ideal candidate for the Accounting Manager role will have a strong background in financial management, with the ability to analyze complex financial data and provide clear recommendations, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate across departments and lead a team, strong problem-solving skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines while maintaining operational efficiency, and the ability to adapt to changing business needs and challenges.

Responsibilities:

• Record, verify and reconcile transactions and accounts to ensure accurate reporting and ledger maintenance
• Prepare and analyze financial statements, budgets, and forecast, and alert the Controller to any discrepancies
• Ensure compliance with accounting standards and legal requirements
• Recommend ways to improve accounting processes, reduce costs and enhance revenue
• Participate in external audits, preparing documentation, and coordinating with the Controller and outside accounting firm
• Supervise accounting staff and delegate financial responsibilities as needed
• Maintain confidentiality of the company’s financial, proprietary and other sensitive information
• Assist with researching, vetting, and selecting a payment processing solution that will reduce paper check volume, errors and waste
• Assist with researching, vetting, and selecting a new Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license, preferred
• Minimum of 10 years of experience in accounting or finance, with at least 5 years in a managerial role
• Strong understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), financial reporting, and internal controls
• Proven experience with accounting software systems such as QuickBooks and Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems such as NetSuite, or similar, preferred
• Strong leadership skills and experience managing a team
• Knowledge of tax laws and compliance requirements
