This role is an in office position for candidates within a commutable distance of our Irvine location. This role is an exempt salary and pays $120,000-$135,000 depending on experience, plus a discretionary bonus opportunity. This role is open to candidates who do not require visa sponsorship.

The Accounting Supervisor oversees the daily operations of the accounting department, ensuring accurate and timely financial transactions and reporting. The Accounting Supervisor supervises and supports accounting staff, reviews their work, assists with audits, and enforces internal controls and policies.

What you'll be doing:

  • Collect, analyze, verify, and report financial information to document company's financial performance and position to make well-informed financial decisions.
  • Recommend forecasting requirements, draft annual budgets, and protect expenditures to prepare periodic statements and meet financial regulatory requirements.
  • Supervise a team of junior accountants. Offer support and guidance.
  • Assist in managing cash flows and reviewing treasury cash summaries. Prepare the monthly cashflow projections.
  • Prepare budgets, KPI reports, forecasts and executive level financial reports.
  • Prepare general ledger journal entries for revenue, commissions, accrued payroll costs and other accounting areas. Review the GL journal entries prepared by the staff accountant and support the month end closing process.
  • Prepare accounts reconciliation for revenue, commissions, accrued payroll costs and other accounting areas. Review accounts reconciliation including treasury, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, intercompany, fixed assets, prepaid expenses and accrued liabilities.
  • Review subsidiary ledgers and other financial and accounting records.
  • Support the operations department with monthly commissions calculations and Ad-hoc financial tasks.
  • Provide necessary support with reinforcement of compliance within the finance function.
  • Promote collaboration and accountability across all departments.
  • Assist with finance Ad-Hoc assignments as needed.
  • Assist with developing internal controls for all accounting processes.
  • Act as a point of contact and liaison between accounting and external parties, including clients, suppliers, and lenders.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting is required.
  • Total of 5-7 years of professional experience, with a minimum of 2 years of audit experience and 1-2 years of managerial experience.
  • Big4, Mid-Tier experience is highly preferred but not required.

Certificates and/or Licenses

  • MBA in accounting and finance is preferred but not required.
  • CPA license is preferred but not required.

  • Forward thinking and a team player.

Reasoning & Analytics Skills

  • Strong understanding of cost accounting principles and standards.
  • Demonstrated experience in preparing financial analysis, forecast and planning.
  • Detail oriented with a flexible mindset.
  • High proficiency in Excel spreadsheets and formulation.
