Capstan Therapeutics, Inc. is a privately held biotechnology company dedicated to advancing in vivo cell reprogramming. The core platform technology comprises proprietary targeted lipid nanoparticles (tLNPs) that are composed of LNPs conjugated with a recombinant protein binder, such as a monoclonal antibody. tLNPs are designed to deliver payloads, including mRNA or gene editing tools, capable of reprogramming specific cell types in vivo. The platform technology has the potential to generate transformative therapies with possible applications across a broad range of disease areas, including immuno-oncology, autoimmune disorders, fibrosis, and monogenic blood disorders. The Opportunity We are currently searching for a highly motivated and innovative accounting professional to join our growing team. In this role, you will help to develop scalable internal processes and procedures and work cross-functionally with our growing departmental teams. You will help steer the course as a functional manager in the accounting department. Responsibilities & Duties: Responsible for managing aspects of the monthly close process, including preparation of journal entries, and maintenance reconciliations. Manage monthly and quarterly accruals, including clinical trial accruals. Review new and amended contracts to determine appropriate accounting treatment and coordinate with internal and external stakeholders regarding costs and activities incurred. Assist with the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements. Oversee Accounts Payable function, ensuring all transactions and cash disbursements are consistent with our accounting policies and procedures. Identify and implement process improvements for the procure-to-pay workflow. Assist with the processing of payroll on a semi-monthly basis. Assist with the development and management of a monthly budget vs actual reporting. Assist with FP&A and forecast adjustments. Manage the processing of local, state, and federal registrations and filings. Correspond with external auditors regarding quarterly review and annual audit testing procedures. Design, document, and maintain effective internal controls over the accounting and financial reporting processes. Proficient in overseeing and leading the execution and planning of both direct and dotted-line reports as assigned. Perform other duties as assigned. Requirements/Qualifications: Generally met with a bachelor’s degree or equivalent. At least 4 years experience in accounting and finance in a biotech/pharmaceutical company. Advanced experience with Microsoft Excel including lookup functions and pivot tables. Strong organization and time management skills. A high attention to detail. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work independently, managing multiple priorities to meet deadlines. Strong knowledge of US GAAP. Ability to work with different stakeholders across and outside the organization. Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in accounting and/or CPA is highly desired. Coupa experience is beneficial. Salary Range: $120,000 – $150,000 per year depending on experience + bonus & equity.
