Description We are looking for a meticulous Legal Secretary to join our team in CHICAGO, Illinois. In this role, you will be instrumental in supporting our dynamic team of attorneys by handling a variety of legal tasks and ensuring the smooth operation of our office. This role offers a short term contract employment opportunity. Responsibilities: Manage and prepare a variety of legal documents such as motions, subpoenas, appeals, and briefs. Schedule court depositions, meetings, and hearings as directed by legal teams. Maintain organized case files and perform updates on legal library documentation. Communicate effectively with clients, legal officials, and staff about case details. Conduct legal research and compile data as directed. Uphold standard legal procedures and ensure the confidentiality of sensitive information at all times. Liaise with witnesses and experts in preparation for case trials. Handle incoming and outgoing mail, faxes, and phone calls with professional etiquette. Execute administrative tasks including photocopying, making appointments, and organizing files within deadlines. Utilize Case Management Software, CompuLaw, and other related applications for efficient and accurate task completion. Requirements Proficiency in Case Management Software is essential for this role. Familiarity with CompuLaw is a strong advantage. Experience with Billing Functions is necessary. Ability to handle Briefing tasks is required. Proficiency in Calendar Management is expected. Knowledge of Consumer Electronics is desired. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines. Previous experience in a legal secretary role is desirable. Ability to maintain confidentiality and act with discretion. Strong interpersonal skills, able to work in a team. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite is required. Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively. High school diploma or equivalent required; further legal education or certification is a plus.
