PRIMARY PURPOSE:
To assist with payroll activities of the transportation department and provide clerical services to the director and supervisor of transportation.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
Supervisory Responsibilities:
None.
Mental Demands/Physical Demands/Environmental Factors:
Tools/Equipment Used: Standard office equipment including computer and peripherals; two-way radio; Navigation Software; school bus; safety equipment including but not limited to flares, reflective signs, and fire extinguisher;
Posture: Prolonged sitting; frequent standing and twisting; occasional kneeling/squatting, bending, stooping, and pushing/pulling
Motion: Repetitive hand motions; frequent keyboarding and use of mouse; prolonged driving; moderate walking, climbing stairs, grasping/squeezing, wrist flexion/extension, and reaching
Lifting: Limited light lifting and carrying (less than 15 pounds) on a daily basis
Environment: Frequent exposure to extreme hot and cold temperatures, noise, and vehicle fumes; work early shift; may work irregular and prolonged hours
Mental Demands: Maintain emotional control under stress

PRIMARY PURPOSE:
To assist with payroll activities of the transportation department and provide clerical services to the director and supervisor of transportation.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education/Certification
- High School Diploma or GED
- Ability to type with accuracy a minimum of 30 words per minute
- Strong computer skills; knowledge of Microsoft Office products
- Organizational skills as needed for filing
- Top Notch communications, public relations and interpersonal skills
- Qualifications subject to change at the discretion of the Director of Transportation
- Ability to communicate effectively in speaking, reading and writing in English and Spanish a plus
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Commercial Driver License- Class A or B with P & S endorsement
Preferred Experience:
- 3 years clerical experience school setting working with time cards preferred
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
- Assist departmental office staff with clerical duties.
- Assist the Personnel Services department with onboarding procedures
- Serve as liaison between transportation and payroll department.
- Assist Payroll department when necessary.
- Verify, edit and create (as needed) time card information for non-exempt staff in the transportation department.
- Maintain employees' Schedules in the TEAMS Financial software
- Communicate policies and procedures to personnel on payroll issues
- Work flexible hours or shifts as necessary for the efficient operation of the department.
- Operate different computer applications including TEAMS & Routing Software
- Understand, explain and apply written and oral instructions, practices and procedures.
- Assist with route, extra-curricular and special needs compensation
- Responds to radio calls to ensure the smooth operation of transportation services.
- Coordinates the use of supplies and equipment as directed by Director & Supervisor.
- Responsible for training non-exempt employees how to clock in and clock out.
- Collects, completes and distributes departmental paperwork.
- Uses time wisely to ensure productivity and efficiency.
- Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.
