Our current concepts are Zandra's Taqueria, with locations in Old Town Manassas, Town of Haymarket, and soon to open in the Town of Culpeper. In 2023, we will be opening two new restaurant concepts in Old Town Manassas; WE ARE GROWING!

Reports to: Executive Team

Summary of Position: Managing the Zandra's Taqueria operation to ensure efficient and profitable operations. You are responsible for the business performance of your restaurant, as well as maintaining high standards of food, service, and health and safety.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  1. Coordinating the entire operation of the restaurant.
  2. Overseeing food preparation, ensuring compliance with health, safety, food handling, and hygiene standards.
  3. Ensuring compliance with alcoholic beverage regulations.
  4. Completing and sharing daily log reports to the Executive Management Team.
  5. Handling discipline and termination of employees in coordination with Human Resource (HR) Director.
  6. Managing your staff and providing them with feedback.
  7. Ensuring that all employees adhere to the company's uniform standards, policies, and procedures.
  8. Understanding and implementing all company policies, procedures, and standards.
  9. Greeting customers and advising on menu and beverage choices.
  10. Running the Front of the House and Back of the House.
  11. Ensuring that all guests feel welcome and are given responsive, friendly, and courteous service.
  12. Training and motivating Front of the House, Back of the House, and Managers.
  13. Creating and managing the staff schedule each week.
  14. Accomplishing restaurant Human Resource (HR) objectives by recruiting, selecting, orienting, and training in coordination with HR Director.
  15. Managing inventory and purchasing for the restaurant.
  16. Stepping in the necessary roles when employees are absent.
  17. Taking responsibility for the business performance of the restaurant.
  18. Analyzing and planning restaurant sales levels and profitability.
  19. Attracting patrons by implementing marketing programs with the local jurisdictions.
  20. Maintaining professional and technical knowledge with Executive Management Team by tracking emerging trends in the restaurant industry.
  21. Responsible for the opening and closing check-out processes.
  22. Ensuring that all restaurant equipment is maintained and properly working.
  23. Performing other duties as assigned.

Qualifications & Experience:

  1. Must be able to work at both the Manassas and Haymarket locations depending on restaurant schedule.
  2. Must be proficient in Microsoft Office to include Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
  3. Must be technically savvy with a minimum of 2 years of experience with restaurant POS systems, computers, and online delivery and carry-out apps.
  4. Minimum of 3 years of full-service restaurant experience.
  5. Must be at least 21 years of age.
  6. Ability to think quickly on your feet and be a problem solver.
  7. Ability to reach, bend, stoop, and frequently lift 25 lbs. without assistance and 50 lbs. with assistance.
  8. Ability to traverse all parts of the restaurant quickly.
  9. Work in a hot and noisy environment.
  10. Must have high integrity and solid work ethic.
  11. Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  12. Expected to work long hours during peak periods, evenings, and weekends.
  13. Having or obtaining a food handler’s and/or alcohol certification may be required.
  14. Having reliable transportation to and from work.
  15. Must have Front of the House experience.
  16. Must have Back of House experience.
  17. Familiarity with food handling, safety, and other restaurant guidelines.
