Pay Range: 91K - 137,800K USD Annual

Position Summary:

Production Manager will oversee the day to day activities concerning all aspect of production build to meet daily, monthly, quarterly and yearly goals through excellent leadership, teaching and daily involvement with the employees and processes. The manager drives the lean process to maximize profitable growth, provides premier customer service, develop a technically qualified workforce, and reduce operating cost and inventories through incremental and substantive continuous improvements.

Responsible for all aspects of managing daily production including developing employees, staying within departmental budget, employment decisions related to employees and performance assessment of team leaders and employees.

Trains the workforce in Lean Manufacturing methodologies and utilizes Lean manufacturing tools to eliminate manufacturing waste; works closely with management on Lean process projects using lean tools (i.e. Value Stream Mapping, 5S, Setup Reduction) and metrics.

Directly manages the departmental cells and works cooperatively with other functional managers, supervisors and leaders to optimize production efficiency.

Frequently communicates with peers and management using respect, integrity, cooperation, teamwork and professionalism.

Ensures individual accountability for meeting product quality standards and production schedule commitments.

Maintains a safe working environment for all employees.

Supervises and coordinates activities to insure production flow and quality control standards for all manufacturing departments.

Works with planning to schedule daily operations to effectively utilize workforce and equipment in accordance with material availability and flow requirements, given the current demand.

Identifies staffing and equipment needed to meet production requirements. Hires, trains, and motivates personnel as required.

Identifies product/production problems, reviews production re-work and rejected part inspection reports. Assists in determining and eliminating causes; works with support departments to minimize rejects/scrap and maintain optimum production flow.

Requisitions equipment maintenance or repair of tools to maximize production efficiency and minimize down time and schedules major repairs with manufacturing services.

Participates in production machine lay-out planning, and modifications including considerations with respect to production flow, safety, power, and operating requirements.

Transitions new products from engineering to production to meet new/rapid/prototype requirements.

Drives continuous improvement through the use of lean manufacturing tools and practices.

Performs other duties as assigned or directed.

Education, Knowledge & Experience:

Bachelor’s Degree, or equivalent work experience and related technical training.

5+ years of experience working in a manufacturing environment.

Demonstrated knowledge of Word, Excel, Visio, PowerPoint.

Clear understanding of inventory flow through the entire business operation.

Demonstrated knowledge of administrative procedures; manufacturing and/or engineering documentation, work schedules, set-ups, methods and procedures and equipment operation.

Demonstrated presentation and written/verbal communication skills to properly direct, assist and train personnel.

Experience with an ERP system (Preferably JD Edwards or Oracle).

Physical / Mental Capabilities:

Ability to lift 25 pounds regularly and up to 50 pounds occasionally.

Ability to use hand tools.

Ability to sit, stand, and concentrate continuously for up to 2 hour increments.

Mixed use facility with office, laboratory, machine shop, manufacturing and warehousing with light to moderate noise levels.

General and specific safety practices are required including but not limited to safety glasses and gloves.

Some exposure to hazardous materials in the form of gasses and liquids.

Total Rewards

The compensation range for this position is $91,800.00 - $137,800.00, depending on experience. This position may be eligible for performance based bonus plan.
